Apologies for the very late posting of last weekend's ground-hopping... Saturday 17th August 3:00pm - London Lions v Ampthill Town part 1
No need to apologise Mr IT Wizz, it keeps our members in suspense and eager anticipation. This ground was very basic but fair play to London, it was at a great cost for them to put in place their stand, although they would have had to install one to meet league requirements.
Mr ban Gerwen will be interested to know that the blue seats form the press area and the disabled enclosure. London Lions lost 2-1, which was incredible as they should have wrapped the game up in the first half having missed numerous chances. The Elf was very pleased to see the guy on the turnstile had produced a handful of programmes, even though they advertise online only through their website. Full admission £5 Programme free Lager £4 Total outlay £9
It's a double header this past weekend; first up Ampthill Town vs Hillingdon Borough Saturday 24th August KO 3:00pm (part 1)
A Bank Holiday Monday Morning 'Special' Alfold FC vs Pagham FC Monday 26th August KO 11:00am (part 1)
Noo. It's fun. I come on from time to time, although the non league matches I've watched are seldom as low down the Ladder as some of these
Just to tease you until I get round to posting the pics... last weekend it was Southwick v Billingshurst in the FA Vase Attendance... 34
This was a cracking one to tick. Ampthill is a lovely little village no more than 3 miles from Flitwick Station. I had spoken to the Chairman on Friday who confirmed that programmes were being printed for this game, although normally they are online only. I explained that my friend and I were avid collectors of programmes and could he reserve two for us. On entering the ground we were introduced to him who led us to the bar(what a shame!) and handed over the paperwork. We felt obliged to get a beer in as a thank you and adding to the coffers.
