a point in a game were the defence looked solid, O'Leary made a crucial save to spare Beckles blushes. Burtons number 2 had Giles in his pocket which will be a good learning experience for Giles, thought Love had his best game this season. both teams cancelled each other out, both teams huffed a puffed with very little end product,towns midfield looked pedestrian, numerous long balls that were quickly returned to us,Edwards missed one of towns best chances on the edge of the box you would hope a player of his calibre would at least get it on target. town looked to have run out of ideas until Ferjiri,thompson and udoh came on. Thompson did one charging run from the midfield which rattled Burton,once fully fit he has roadrunner pace whilst the heat may well have had an impact,this was not an entertaining game, however we looked a lot better defensivly than last year and we are getting points, we have players coming back from injury so hopfeully the midfield will look sharper, sign another forward and this team may look sharper and look like we can score some goals on a regular basis.
We started well and for the first 15 minutes we were on top of Burton. Our own midfield stiffled our attacking force, Laurent did some good creative stuff at times, however I was feeling that Edwards was the player that needed dropping although he showed some better footy later on. Defense was solid and Ricketts needs to build on that and get the midfield linking up and providing options for the attack. Morison looks stranded and positions himself naturally at the right side of goal, there needs to be players aware of this as he has the ability to create the assist.
