Great chance for points, particularly as the loss of Win Bisaka has considerably weakened them in defence, lets just hope we don't win any penalties.

The game isn't on Sky but if you find NBC Sports (Kodi, Mobdro etc) it will be live.

Lindelof at fault for the Palace goal. Pogba has once again put the wrong boots on the wrong foot and James has been anonymous with nowhere to run with the ball as he is getting it so high up the pitch. Changes needed at half-time, a terrible, pedestrian performance from us so far.

Disgraceful performance, too many players thought the game was won before kick-off. Lingard was lethargic, his passing was poor - Pogba was the worst player on the pitch by a mile, for all the hard work in keeping possession against a hard-working Palace side, he was poor in terms of keeping possession - he was our most dispossessed player - yet again. he is already a liability as opposed to an asset. Things improved when James was moved to the left after Shaw was injured but there was no urgency in our play. I know, for England, it looked warm, but FFS, you can't win a game by walking around the pitch. Rashford and Martial might be 'bros', but they have absolutely no understanding on the pitch - they both play in the same square yard of pitch. Any enthusiasm from pre-season is fast ebbing away, particularly after Rashford's penalty miss..

Go find somewhere for a bum you silly twats.

Didn't see this coming. Haven't watched it or listened to it so no idea what the shortcomings were.

Deffo concur, as I said the other week, that Rashford and Martial play in (literally) the same position . This needs sorting.

Up to Ole to sort that one out but they can't be in each other's pockets every game.

Negatives - Pogba's poor possession, Martial and Rashfod are the PL's only conjoined attackers, Shaw injured (hamstring) - Martial injured (pride hurt) and Lingard for just being crap.

Positives - Wan Bissaka (yet again) a quiet and understated, effective Maguire (yet again) and .................................................................

Ole needs to have either/or Gomes and Chong on that bench. We get to the opponent's 18yd box every game and come up against a wall of 10 outfield players. we need Chong/Gomes's speed and agility to provide some movement, at the moment it's all to predicable again - we ping it around in little triangles waiting/hoping for an opening that doesn't arrive. There is no point having Matic and Tuanzebe on the bench, we have plenty of midfield cover if we get an injury and Young can double for any defensive/midfield injury - that gives us two places on the bench for players that can change games.

As a Southampton fan the demise of Man Utd over the last few has been amusing. I almost mirrors the failings of the club during the late 70s and 80s when they always under-achieved and became the subject of ridicule in the press. Replacing SAF was always going to be extremely difficult as he had far surpassed the achievements of any other coach of a British team whether we are talking Shankley, Paisley, Wenger, Mourinho @ Chelsea or Brian Clough. I think any neutral would have to say that it is only now under Guardiola that another team has emerged which has surpassed the relentless capability of Man Utd under SAF. City are at another level and, for the non-biased fan, I think they play the kind of football the neutral loves to watch.

I thought that the recent decline of Man Utd would eventually stop this season and I truly felt that Man Utd would be the surprise package in 2019/20, repeating Mourinho's achievement of coming second yet running the eventual winners to the wire. All the pieces missing from the puzzle seemed to have been put in place. The new signings seemed just the tonic to make that bit of difference required and I would not have been surprised if Liverpool failed to continue their transformation and finish behind United. I was predicting 2nd place for Utd this season, imagining that the kind of shock results witnessed today would have been put behind them. It is reminiscent of the Cardiff defeat last season. I know Utd will eventually claw their way past Liverpool although maybe not this year as I had expected. With the talent in the squad, Utd should be match for Liverpool and it is strange that not everything has gelled.

The results so far this season have been a disappointment and Utd still appear to be coming up short. Next week's game will be exciting - Saints' confidence will be buoyed by today's result but I expect OGS to expect a response to today's reversal. Amazing to see the possession statistics and think Utd still lost to lowly Palace. I am confident that it will eventually click at Old Trafford but obviously hope that any improvement in form is delayed until after next Saturday!

We don't have to close that mate, your lot will do it for us. The 32 point gap will be a much bigger problem.

Just one of them days. Palace scored from there only 2 shots and our finishing was awful. We need to improve our finishing and penalties though.

Nothing wrong with the penalty other than 1" off, Rashford usually puts the ball in the side netting which is more or less a perfect pen (impossible for the keeper to reach), today he was an inch out.
What bothers me is Dan James getting his second yellow card in two games for nothing. The first time he went down against Wolves was a dive but the ref let it go (probable yellow), the second time he clipped the opponents heels as he ran round the back of him and fell (no foul), ref gave a yellow. Today against Palace his thigh clipped the opponents knee and he fell (no foul), ref gave a yellow.
Refs need educating that there are 3 possible options, foul, dive or fall.
