Next up is the extremely tough fixture of Millwall, expected to struggle and with one of the smaller budgets in the division Millwall appear back to there up and at em underdog best having started with two wins and a draw from there first 3 games and only conceding a division low 1 goal. In there last fixture they beat top of the table Sheff Wed defending with half the game with only 10 men in a backs to the wall effort! Our quality should be enough IF we earn the right to play with our work rate... Ex player Matt Smith has already scored a couple and cud b a real handful with the direct way Millwall play!! Winger Jed Wallace was sent off last game so will miss this one!!
Cookie, you are stepping up to the plate very well, I assume that like myself everyone on the board are much appreciative. A tough game coming next and as you say "]IF we earn the right to play with our work rate...[/QUOTE], this could bode well as a sign of the future this season. No news on any injuries as yet so team talk to come......
I would personally keep the starting line up the same, the squad will be required but still in August I think we should be putting out our strongest line up, if we were to win and make it three on the bounce we could possibly then look at a few changes for the Forest game.... I really like our new signings not only are the good quality in my opinion Arter, Knockeart and both Reid’s also add to the teams fight and work rate.
Scott has said our only injury is Odoi who has a knee niggle, otherwise all fit and well. I therefore think we will go with an unchanged and winning line up from the Huddersfield game.
I guess you could say we were dominant, 84% possession and 4 - 0, wow. MoM must be ....................... Scott Parker, he has played a blinder tonight and god knows what will happen with some experience under his belt. Must not get carried away, must not get carried away, must not get carried away, must not get carried away, must not get carried away, must not get carried away, ....
Some of the stats are just mind boggling... 84% possession which apparently is the highest in the championship since opta stats began, 934 passes out of 974 attempted for a ridiculous success rate, in comparison Millwall completed 108 passes out of 167!
This is how I think a lot of us are thinking this morning! We can take at least one thing from our opening games: our summer dealings appear to have been very good. We now have a very good squad for this division. Our biggest risk is injuries, as we don't really have the strength behind our first choice front three, but it's okay to feel good right now.
Our next 4 fixtures are Forest, Cardiff, WBA and Sheff Wed all teams that before the season started I expected to be top half of not better after these I believe we will have an idea of how this season is likely to go!!
Dominant result for your boys last night. There have been some predictable results and as usual for the championship, some ' upsets'. Plenty more to come, but another half dozen games and we'll get a better idea how things might pan out. Not sure many would have put udders and stoke as the bottom 2 after 4 games. But there again, this IS the championship.
Having seen Knockeart’s goal again, I counted 26 passes and I think all 11 players touched the ball, I m surprised more hasn’t hasn’t been made of amongst our own fans and the media!
Cookie, I think the reason is that there is also so much else of a positive nature coming from the game. I recall Leeds in their hey day doing something similar, not so sure all 11 of their player took part, this is still held in high esteem, but was in the top flight at the time. Overall it was an astonishing performance for so many reasons, hopefully we can keep this up in the season ahead.
