I was going to mention Prem on Anlaby Rd was always the place to go for Fara Staypress and Pierre Cardin jumpers. Even the blue and red carrier bags were trendy to have at school. But according to Google it's still there!?! That cant be right can it?
What was the one at start of Anlaby Road in sixties? Royce? Remember getting a suit from there in 1966 when I was 16 and pinstripes and chalk stripes were the latest thing. Went in the pub in Brid that night and there were half a dozen at the bar in pin stripes and chalk stripes. The best of the lot was a lad who had got his dad’s demob suit, which for some reason he had kept.. Fitted a treat, as they were both 6’ tall, and was far better than the ones we had paid a relative fortune for from various trendy boutiques,
Debenhams will shortly go 'pop'. I went in there on Tuesday (20/8/19). Saw a pair of jeans I liked the look off, tried them on, went to the counter to pay for them, but no one bothered to come to serve me at the till, despite three members of staff standing talking about 10 yards away. I got pissed off, put the jeans back and walked out. With that lack of customer care Debenhams days are numbered.
Music Workshop on Spring Bank. I couldn't afford to actually buy a guitar from there, but I could gaze.
