We often but heads on here, but I admire your stance and the fact your are sticking to it, even if I don't fully agree with it.... One thing I'd like to ask is did you stop going when we had other awful owners that you didn't like/agree with? If not...why stop now and not then?
Not obligated. Exactly. My post was not meant as part of the go/stay away debate. If there are only seven people watching a game in a very busy pub, the same pub that has many watching other games, there is a reason.
I’d like 20000 in the groundcan sing Allam out or you said you’ll sell up so why don’t you go And more importantly we shall not be moved And I’d like to show other clubs we are something They all see us now as going back to the level we should be at
We all see things differently, Chazz. I totally respect the next mans point of view and I have never tried to influence anybody else's, although I do understand how some of my posts might do that.
I don't Even if you paid for the ticket/membership/****e, I wouldn't go I have said I will not go till they do, and unlike them, I am a man of my word
Firstly, I read posts and pick up on what folk say: you should try it. Secondly, I have not told you or anyone else what to think. I have simply said that, in my opinion, we have moved on from using the Allams as a reason to not attend. PLT agreed, as do others. You don't have to, it's your choice, but as a point of discussion you could probably try and come to terms with what the posts of both me and PLT was expressing, instead of playing the victim, because you're not. I can't and currently don't want to go, I made that clear. Just as I didn't say everyone else had to. Stop making stuff up and deal with reality.
So you might also realise this is a discussion board, a forum, and my post, that you decided to criticise me for was nothing more than a discussion point and not an instruction to you or anyone else. Don't go Kempton, no ****er will miss you, that's for sure. And that's not a dig either, just a fact.
As you wish. Although the 'we' you refer to was preceded by 'in my opinion', so I was not putting any words in your mouth or including you in anything other than being a Hull City supporter, which I believe you may be. If you aren't then you are safe in not being included as a supporter, as you were never included in my opinion. Your reading skills seem to have faded, Ben. Or, perhaps, like a few others, you share the Allams trait of reading it how you want to, not how it is? Pretty sad and petty, really.
Exactly how is it ? Why are you insinuating "supporters" have moved on from saying the Allams actions are no longer a valid reason for non attendance ? Are you just presenting an argument biased towards what your own opinion is ? Evidence would be helpful, not just a statement that a couple of posters on here seem to agree with your comments.
I still go and always have and will until I want to stop. I do not think by attending I am supporting the owners, it’s about supporting the team and enjoying my match day. I have moved seats eight times. Sat in every stand and have been forced to move seats 3 times. Two of us now pay roughly the same as one of our previous season passes. I am still involved in the OSC and still enjoy it in the main. Sometimes it’s hard work and sometimes it’s a joy. I still believe in supporter involvement, but have no desire to gain from it either in status or in benefits. The fact that we are getting low numbers at games is in my view a real shame. Whilst I understand the view of a boycotter, I have a real sense that it achieves little. Those that attend games do not have a different set of values. They do not go to support the owners. Being priced out of watching football is not something new. Hating the owners and protesting against them is nothing new for Hull City. One thing I do know for sure is that some find it easier to moan than to smile. If anyone thinks that changing ownership of the club will change anything, they will be in for a shock. The owners might change, but the infrastructure and business of the club will not. The people who work in the club will not suddenly leave. For sure there may be places at the table that are not there now, but the end result will be the same. Personally, I could not give a flying **** who owns the club, I believe in community ownership and wish that we had it either in owning the KCOM, the club or both. But the fact is that if “we” owned the club, or any part of it at this moment in time, it would be bust. Any money raised through development would be long gone and it would be up to the supporters to dig deep to bring in players of the calibre that would ensure survival in the Football League. There simply isn’t the money in the community. This for me highlights the problem of selling the club. It is finding a buyer who wants to give away their money. We do not need anyone who is a property developer, development around the stadium, only ever is a short term fix. We need someone who likes the adoration or is wealthy enough to throw money at this club without converting it into a loan. This post is all about me, my thoughts, my views and my opinions. Hull City has given me great memories and I have made lifelong friends. It is a part of my life now and I am enjoying it.
There are many reasons why our attendances are down. One of those is people refusing to give money to the Allams. Another cost, another is being shunted from one stand to another and back, another is its no longer very enjoyable and another is we're a lower to mid-table championship team with no prospect of investment under the Allams. No doubt there are other reasons. All are signs of Allams failure to properly manage our club. The Premier League money running out is no reason to attend if you hate the Allams so much you haven't given them a penny previously. Tomorrow will be our last game as "pass holders" as we've given up our memberships. The main reason is the cost of our membership nearly doubled and I'm on a fixed income. A secondary reason is that under the Allams we have moved three times, two of which were forced. Being treated like cattle made the decision to stop our membership easier. We still intend to come to some matches at the KCOM, maybe an away match or two, or we could go and see Filey at Scarborough if another trip is organised. If nothing changes in terms of pricing we'll reconsider when I become eligible for the OAP concession. In the meantime we'll pick and choose which games we come to.
Firstly, I read posts and pick up on what folk say: you should try it. Who are the “We” that your opinion thinks have moved on from using the Allams as a reason to not attend? Your in out style of going or not going using the Allams as an excuse when it suits may be good for you but for others the Allams are the reason some no longer attend home games. Me going will have no impact on either Allam or the supporters at the ground but it’ll have an impact on me, my values & my principles. I don’t believe the Allams & don’t trust them. Their personal characteristics are the same as they have always been. They have got away with so much, that they should not have done. Concessions were a piss take, the name-change is a forever piss take. When they reverse something it is done with a false largesse but isn’t challenged. I don’t attend because they treat you like ****e, they abuse goodwill and they are as disingenuous a pair as you will ever meet. Their actions over a number of years has robbed them of any moral high ground. The club pretend to listen to the fans and can claim to be working with them - they are not. Being ambivalent must stop at some point when it is damaging your club, which I and many more (both supporters and otherwise) believe it is doing. It comes across that it has been forgotten who the enemy is in all of this. Many clubs are run poorly but what makes Hull City different is the owners; they are a disease that has taken control and infected our club, which makes it even worse than most others. Maybe that infection will leave, maybe the club will sort itself out, I don't know, but I believe that there are many who live a whole lot closer than my 150 miles who react in the same way. I begrudge putting a single penny into the Allam coffers while he progresses his campaign against the club, so I don't. I don't expect anyone else to follow my particular example. I’ll be back when the owners change. I bet they won't tell us it is a gift to the City or that they will make football as free as the air that we breath; do you? Do you think a new owner will demand ownership of the KCOM for £0 and I very much doubt they will try to change the name or rob the young and old - do you? Whether or not I will attend any games, home or away, is totally unimportant to me, as the owners have destroyed the joy I felt in the occasion and the commitment I had to make to travel to it. Again, sad but true; but life goes on. I stopped attending as my own personal point of principle, rather than a protest ... at least, for me, that principle remains intact.
I already miss our little chats Obi. The move from the North Stand to the East, means sittting with new company all around. To be honest the seats are great and the people around us are welcoming and friendly. It costs more, but I am lucky to be able to afford it. Being priced out of match days is not pleasant. I do hope that we meet up again soon and that you and yours keep well.
