ONLY thing typical is those who constantly appear and disappear according to form. You know who you are... Allams OUT
Needs a goal badly. And a haircut. That 90s raver/ Ibrahimovic/Bale look may hold weight in the Antipodes but Eavesy needs to book in at Stan Leeman or Mark Hill's Kirkella salon for a consultation.
Went again last night(2nd home game) l felt more dis- connected from the club than l ever have, it felt like a pre season devoid of any atmosphere. No chants of Allams out, even though it was on Sky. These days are more depressing than lloyd, Fish, Chetham etc.
Yesterday was my first game in person at the KCOM in three years and having watched a few earlier games or highlights on Tigers TV in Canada I was hoping for a win and a move up into the Top 6. I was seated part way up the West Stand in line with the goal that Blackburn were defending, and for 20 minutes we tore them apart and could have been 3 up. Bowens penalty was well saved, Grosicki moved into the middle and hit the post, and Irvine first timed a low shot just past the near post. Grosicki was beating his man with ease and laying on several chances that should have been put away. A clear win looked inevitable. Then the atrocious ref decided he was going to blow the whistle every time Eaves shirt was pulled back or wrestled down by a CH who was physically overmatched. But to the astonishment of everyone Blackburn were given a series of free kicks and the offended Eaves a yellow card. And our pressing game up front ended. Bowen became anonymous, Blackburn were given the freedom of the park for the rest of the game by the worst ref I've seen in a long time, and one highly dubious goal, after the wretched Kingsley was beaten for the umpteenth time and Long clearly obstructed, decided the contest. If the second half was McCann's idea of a pressing game then we are in big trouble. Apart from a few passes out wide to our double and triple teamed wingers, and long up in the air hoofs to our well marked strikers from De Wijs and McKenzie etc, we had no plan, no creativity, no support from mid-field. Only Grosicki represented any threat up front. We clearly missed our experienced captain at RB as McKenzie is nowhere close to Championship standard, Kingsley is continually beaten by any winger with a modicum of speed and is an outright liability. Until last night I had every hope that McCann could at least make us a mid-table side this season. But with Grosicki and Bowen almost inevitably leaving in January, attendances down to 8000, and the Allams continuing to strip the remaining assets before they leave, Division One looks a growing possibility.
They sold their allocation, they were given 6 or 7k I think as both semi finals on the same day. Empty seats more to do with 2 lots of supporters not turning up to the first game
7,000 for a semi-final? Surely they could have filled the stadium twice over? There were fans for the first game. If 2 lots of supporters didn’t turn up for the first game were those people in the ground for the first game supporters of FC and their opponents getting there early?
I watched the game on a big screen, sat on a comfy couch in a pub in Manchester, we’ll the second half anyway. I was annoyed at the penalty being saved, I thought Bowen was a blaster into the roof of the net. Anyway that was gone. The real annoyance was: 1. The fact that McKenzie, I think, was on the post that the ball went in next to. Why did he come off the line? 2. Long was blocked from getting to the ball, why was he not screaming, throwing his hands up in the air, pushing the defender to force him to really push back & then he could have fallen over. McG would have been screaming blue murder, even Marshall would. We have a problem with our players, they aren’t up to the point where we’re getting the 50/50 decisions. I can’t remember which game it was, or the incident either, but I remember thinking at the time, that if the incident had been the opposite way round, the other team would have milked it. I’m not saying cheat, just play the same as everyone else & be more savvy!
Early days, we lost to a very good team. All of last season we was going down to league one and we didn't ! It was actually a very good game, plenty of efforts of goal and good play from both teams. The guy should be more upbeat.
McCann on the season so far... “We look at the season in 12 phases of 12. We’ve got four points from four and it’s neither here nor there really,” he said. “We’ve got a target in mind that we want to get to in the first 12 and we’re way below that over the first four games. We’re probably three or four points behind already. “We know we’ve got points to make up if we want to get to that target. “The boys were made well aware of that but it’s not impossible, put it like that. If we can achieve the target then it’ll put us in a very healthy position.” “I’m not interested in hard luck stories or anything,” said McCann. “I’d rather just say it how it is. We know what it takes to be competitive in this league. “We could’ve won the first four but we haven’t. We need to get back to the drawing board. “We’ve won one and drawn one of four and lost the other two. “We need to keep giving the boys the same message, we won’t be breaking away from that. “We won’t be changing our shape or throwing our toys out of the pram. We’ll stay consistent in everything we do.” “For large periods of every single game we’ve looked very good,” added McCann. “We’ve looked a threat. Tuesday was the first game where I feel we didn’t test their goalkeeper enough. “I watched the game back the next morning and it perked me up a little bit. “We had some really good opportunities, especially in the first half, to take the game away from them. Yes, they had some, but that’s the way our games will be. We’ve got to back ourselves to take our chances.”
I don’t like that last paragraph at all I do t think we’re good enough to think we will score five if you score four.
12 phases of 12? Doesn’t make sense with the next paragraph? 12 phases of 12 possible points does, but then next paragraph he’s talking about a phase of 12 games... Or am I missing something
