Off Topic IS VIDEO ASSISTANT REFEREE WORKING?

I think the super cup pen decision would have been overturned had the ref been a man.
Ironically they are trying to be even and fair but in doing so they allowed the ref to make a mistake.

I felt that the VAR team were highly unlikely to reverse any decisions that night. I think they were trying to show support for the ref ironically I think they disrespected her by not over ruling

They were almost condescending toward the refereeing team imho

The keepers came off the line in CS shootout too
I think they just pulling back ones that take the piss which is a dangerous game

Pogba s there was contact but he was, I think, playing for it, defender was naive

 

Every year, they come up with new rules that are quickly and quietly forgotten about. I think the keeper coming off his line at pens will fall into this category.

There will always be descions we will argue about, but var isn't supposed to be god, it will help the ref and get most things right. It wont see every game reffed to 100% right calls but maybe 99% should be good enough.

If it stops the pain of getting done by a dodgy descion then I'm all for it.

 

I cannot remember number of times he came off his line at Istanbul.

On the GK coming off his line for penalties i'm sure(ish) that i heard that we weren't using VAR for that & just going with the linos decision on it.
Makes me smile that VAR is being implemented differently from country to country .

 

Nice to know they've got their priorities right.

Not to sure why they've bothered to implement var considering they absolutely refuse to use it. It's like they are terrified of making a descion then getting it wrong, but by not making a descion they are still wrong. Pointless at the minute

 

The Matip pen was so clear cut that it shouldn't need VAR and mistakes like that are one of the reasons it was implemented. My understanding is that they would overrule a clear mistake by the ref and yet nothing from them? Why? I'd like to hear the reasons behind that decision.

 

Getting an average of a howler a week so far, pretty much what we had is it not?

I'm wondering if it's being implemented this season without actually being used. So this year we get used to it, then next season it starts to help with descions.

If it's the case that if there is the slightest bit of contention it will just go with the ref, then it's just a high tech linesman
