That just shows you know diddly squat about the sport, the UFC is the biggest rising sport in the world fact, the events are hitting around 50,000 attendance etc...enough said...

You are preaching to a gallery that's already educated mate.

If some 'Secrets of the *insert entertainment profession here*' on Sky 1 is the extent of your education then really, what are you contributing?

It's a difficult profession, it's not a combat sport. It's choreographed faux violence orchestrated by skilled practitioners, there is little margin for error. I respect it because I tried to get the hang of it as a hobby.

You don't need to play with weapons to hurt yourself, i sustained a concussion from simply forgetting to tuck my chin when taking a simple bump from a clothesline. It's quite a science to become decent at it. You need to tell a story so you don't lose your audience, look after the safety of your opponent, remain in character all while performing a pretty intensive physical activity. Takes talent whether you like it or not.

It's why even though I wouldn't watch 2 hours of the current WWE programming if you paid me I still respect every single one of them that can do that five nights a week and entertain all those viewers.

From what i've seen, UFC is fake as well. A guy got knocked out from a pathetic kick to the face. I've been hit worse than that.

Please don't be ignorant about MMA. No grace? Please attend a jiu-jitsu class immediately. Now that's a sweet science.

A knockout is the result of the brain shutting off to protect itself from further damage as it bounces against the skull. It can take only the slightest clip delivered with correct momentum and positioning to cause this medical phenomenon.

See Ali's "Phantom Punch" vs Liston for an example.

Calling an entire sport fake because one particular KO didn't look like much? That's as immature as most pro wrestling fans are made out to be.

Bob Arum's wife can definitely take a punch, generally off him.

MMA Fighters can't take a shot? Watch Fight Science - there are kicks certain MMA fighters have thrown which far outweigh the velocity and impact ratio of any pro boxers punch.

Chin is generally a natural trait, there are minimal things you can do to improve its durability save strengthening your neck to reduce vibration. To say someone immediately doesn't have a chin as a result of what sport they take up is pure fanboy drivel.

mma and ufc are a fad that will die out soon enough just as kickboxing did all those years ago, and good riddance. do you or hendy own a tap out shirt <laugh>

it shows no skill. no grace. just 2 blokes rolling around on the floor with each other smashing each others face in with elbows etc. how nice.

hendy, no one who really likes boxing is a fan of the HW division. it's been dead for years..the middle divisions are where the real action is

The MMA is unskilled argument is amazingly laughable.

Pan-Am and World Jiu-Jitsu Champs, Olympic Medal Wrestlers and Judokas, Pro Boxers, K1 Kickboxers all populate the sport.

To get to that level in any discipline takes immense talent and dedication. To brush up on 3 or 4 disciplines in addition to the one you specialise in so you don't get absolutely schooled takes even more talent.

Boxing is dying on its arse because the big fights don't happen and when they do you get two guys trying not to lose rather than trying to win so often it dampens my enthusiasm of paying £14.95 to Sky.

Up and coming boxers' records get padded more than a pre-teen bra so promoter's can hype a 20-0 record of someone beating on people not fit to be in a local toughman contest.

I fell out of love with boxing long ago, I still watch the big fights but I find they're every 3 months these days as opposed to the frequency they used to be.
