You're right DG. A better split of opposition would have helped, especially if putting out a '2nd team'.
With their time out injured, navidi, shingler, scott williams, 1/2p and orhers need game time without being up against it. England and a european division 2 side ( though not being at the world cup, dont know how prepared they'd be) then italy and ireland would have been ideal. I suppose its difficult trying to arrange games with lots of other teams in the same boat.
Jarrod Evans and / or patchal need a lot of minutes in the next 2 games with anscobe out.

It is what it is. Cant afford to lose any more to injury though.

Agree. I don't want to see Biggar playing any minutes v Ireland. Need to give Patchell and the Evans 80mins each from the next two games. Same with AWJ, I'd rather see the other locks all given game time. Also want to see Scott given a few games at 13 too.

The big one is to get Carre capped so he can't jump ship and play for engerland.
    He is a raw talent.
Saw a lot of him with the under 20s. Big ball carrier with good hands for a big man. A way to go with the tight work, but going to sarries will help that.

Corry Hill not played since scoring against england in the 6N, so needs some minutes.
Shingler and navidi also. We know what moriarty and tipps can do.
Need to see lane as well as he could fill the last back 5 position. Can also plat centre.

A bit of juggling for gats to do in the next 2 games.

England v ireland on the weekend. 3 games back to back for the men in white. Their 31 are named though.

Not heard from the Sister-in-law today <whistle>

Looks like Ireland have lost their mojo big time. I'd expect a backlash next Saturday but I'm not sure they've got it in them. Depends on the side we put out of course but I can still see us winning.

11 changes for Ireland - anyone's guess how this game will go. Looks like the final warm up in Ireland may be more full blooded. That's not to say we won't see some smash and grunt in this one of course!

I think its what gatland agreed with schmidt a few weeks back.
Scratch side for the first game.
Final 31 man squads announced tomorrow.
Full blown test match next week.
Hopefully no more injuries before boarding the plane.

Well, as is Gatlands want a few surprises in his 31.
Carre in, no rob evans nor samson lee.
A man with a broken leg, not able to play until at least the 2nd game is on the plane. Cubby boi gets in by virtue of us taking SIX back rowers and only 5 props.<yikes>
Backs largely pick themselves with watkin over williams and patchel over evans. Amos in as he can cover 15, 13 and wing.

No doubt a largely 1st team for next week against ireland, though can imagine patchel getting a start as hes not had much game time.

Forwards: Jake Ball, Adam Beard, Rhys Carre, James Davies, Elliot Dee, Ryan Elias, Tomas Francis, Cory Hill, Alun Wyn Jones, Wyn Jones, Dillon Lewis, Ross Moriarty, Josh Navidi, Ken Owens, Aaron Shingler, Nicky Smith, Justin Tipuric, Aaron Wainwright.

Backs: Josh Adams, Hallam Amos, Dan Biggar, Aled Davies, Gareth Davies, Jonathan Davies, Leigh Halfpenny, George North, Hadleigh Parkes, Rhys Patchell, Owen Watkin, Liam Williams, Tomos Williams.

Glad to see Patchell starting, he made a big difference when he came on last Saturday.

I thought the fixture list was a mistake but I think Gats wanted it this way. He's not sentimental and realises a final game in Ireland is hell of a test going into the WC.

    Have to disagree there.
Last hit out before the RWC. Valuable game time for a couple that have been short of late and an opportunity to build some momentum before their first RWC game in TWO weeks.
Result less important, but a meaningful game.

It's more of a nasty suck with Dai, than a bite.... but that could be worse! Get yourself a tetanus either way <laugh>

To tomorrow's game... loss not the end of the world, as you say. A win would give me a warm fuzzy feeling though. Although that could be me pissing myself after too many beers.... anyway. A loss would send us into the WC back in more of an underdog position - which wouldn't be too bad a thing either.

I'm sure the likes of NZ and England will be very confident of their chances whatever, which could be their undoing, certainly England's undoing (as usual) anyway.

A pioneer alright, RIP. I always found it interesting to watch the team reactions in those early days, to see how inclusive they were.

I see NZ are still struggling, scraping past Tonga <whistle>

I don't think anyone's under any illusions, the WC is their's to lose.

I read that last night. Was texting a SA mate about it.
With the number of top class sports folk, especially rugby, dying so young, you have to ask if there is a root cause. Training, performance enhancing drugs, etc?
Im now glad i spent 25 years of my life playing such a healthy sport.<yikes>

Its hard to know how much of a full strength squad NZ put out. Havent seen the teams. There are going to be results in the warm up games that dont give a true reflection. England v ireland. Irelands first game and England's third. Were ireland under cooked?
Wales first result vs england when theyd just come back after altitude training. Was there too much work in the legs?
    Hard to judge.
We'll get a better picture in the next 2-3 weeks.

    Not long to go.:emoticon-0137-clapp

Edit. Ha, sorry ,DG, responded without seeing the score, let alone the team.<doh>
Priciple still stands for the rest of us, but as you say, could be for NZ to lose.:emoticon-0107-sweat
