Agree that Lingard was the weak link, I'd have Mata in that position with decent pace all around him.

Was seriously stupid decision to allow Pogba to take the pen. If the person who took the last penalty and scored is on the pitch he should take it.

    Cost us 2 points, simple.

Pogba is all about Pogba. He couldn't give a **** about the team. How any of his team mates can tolerate him is beyond me. Keano would have kicked his arse long ago.

There has been something off about Lingard since the first game of pre-season. I can't put my finger on it. He seems to be trying to bulk up a bit, his frame is marginally bigger, but that might just be he's emulating Lukaku and turning into a fat bastard. Either way, unless he bucks up he could easily find himself second or third choice on the team sheet.

I agree but I think I spotted a chink of shame at the end of the game.

Could be wrong but maybe the penny dropped a bit? He knew HE had blown it.

Penalty aside, we played well. it was a calm, assured display, none of the panic defending that marked us out last season and overall we deserved to win. Wan Bissaka and Maguire have been astute buys, Wan Bissaka in particular, for me he has been our stand-out player to date. he is assured and calm on the ball, nothing gets past him and he can play the ball well, his final ball from the wing will hopefully improve. Maguire is a human ball magnet and his no-nonsense defending is reminiscent of Vidic. Lots of positives, one huge negative wearing the No6 shirt. Next up Crystal Palace then Soton, so we should be looking to restore points from both those games.
