The misleading headline for this on the front page is Tactical Fouls - Are Man City unfairly maligned?
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49371002

No. No, they're not. That's the conclusion, though Liverpool and Arsenal join them, rather unsurprisingly.

"So why are City perceived to be the big offenders?
There is the fact that City coach Mikel Arteta, in a documentary, was heard telling his players: "If there is a transition, make a foul." "
<laugh> Oh, is that all! <laugh>

Not sure why they focus on the West Ham match, as they actually committed more fouls against us.
14 fouls to 4 and only one yellow, according to Sky.

I'm glad your winning that one! You also beat me on Spurs Supporters Club membership No. Mine was 12069. I think I joined in 1960 (in order not to have to queue up for replay tickets) I have just come across the SSC AGM balance sheet for season 1960/61 which was held at the Enterprise Club on 15/6/61. Its quite fascinating to read now, some 60 years later! Wish I could post the whole thing but lack the know how so here's a few extracts:
    1959/60 EXPENDITURE £ s d INCOME £ s d
    Headquarters & General expenses 50 4 9
    Rent of H.Q. & Sales Kiosk 53 - - Enrolment fees & sales of badges 378 1 4
    Postage 40 2 11 Profit on sales of books etc. 43 2 6
    Loss on 'Lillywhite' 350 5 9 Profit on Socials & fund raising scheme. 448 15 10
    Grant to FOOTBALL SECTION 89 13 8 Profit on travel - - -
    Loss on travel 11 16 1 Profit on Football Section Social 24 9 4
    Depreciation on furniture 2 - - Building Society Interest 8 19 2
    Balance, being profit for season 316 18 - Donations 10 13 -

    914 1 2 914 1 2
I'm skipping some here but Liabilities are Assets are
    £1831 5/9 cash at bank £701 16/4
    stock in hand £214 10/3
    Investment with building society £908 19/2. £1831. 5/9

Hope this is of some interest , very boring tapping it out which is why its not all there! I remember this AGM pre Warmington House. Were you there Smithy? Wonder if the Enterprise is still there...COYS

I am so sorry-the above post has come out all gobblygook. I've no idea what happened. I typed it out exactly the same as original with neat columns of pounds, shillings & pence and now its just a mess! Perhaps it only does digital?

I became a member of the Enterprise when I turned 18...and actually played in the Tottenham Sunday League for them. They joined the league and had to go straight into the Premier League. We got killed on a regular basis but as a center forward I did get a few goals for them....and a few kicks!

p.s. I did write to the new supporters club and got an answer. He'd never heard of me in their records. Well, I still have my silver supporters booklet,so one of us is wrong. Anyway,I'm too old to bother now!!!!!

I visited Warmington House every match day.Bought away programmes when I couldn't go myself. Never went to a meeting there or at Enterprise.
The Enterprise closed donkey's years ago,as did the Tottenham Trades and the TL&R. Working men's clubs gone!
Very little left in Tottenham now that was there when I was a teenager...…...shops.cinemas etc.

I think our Supporters Club ended in the early '80's when the club took over & everyone was offered membership which you needed to buy tickets. Unheard of in our day when you could just turn up for the 3 o/clock kick off first come first served!

I've still got my Spurs Supporters Club badge and membership card. I bought a number of tickets for cup games there.

It got a tremendous write up in _The Glory Glory Game', especially the bread and butter pudding. I wasn't a fan of dried fruit, but it sounds good now.

Well! Well! Well! Smithy and Maggie!
I might win the "oldest member" contest against you two spring chickens, but you are completely out of my league on reminiscences of the Spurs "back in the day". I wasn't a Tottenham residemt, or anywhere near there, until the seventies, to be honest. So my support for the Spurs from the mid-forties was not enhanced by seeing them in person. It's great to hear about your experiences, and to envy you that extra dimension to your Spurs experience. Nowadays the roles are reversed a little, of course, because I have a season ticket, whereas residence in Wales and the USA probably limts attendance for both of you! Like me back in the 40s/50s/60s, however, I'm sure you are there in spirit. I'll be there in person tomorrow for the Newcastle game.

Oh dear, you will be a bit lonely, the match is Sunday, 4.30! Yes, you are quite right, roles are reversed as I haven't seen my beloved Spurs live for many years but I have no regrets. I maintain that my years of active supporting were the very best in the clubs history to date and I loved every minute. These days of course, with tv coverage & live radio commentary, although not the same at least you know whats going on! You had to wait for the evening paper for results in '40's/50's <laugh>. Having said that I would love to visit the new stadium one day. By the way, Herefordshire is not in Wales! I may be the 2nd to last house in England and I can see some lovely Welsh Mountains from the house but I live in England! Give them a cheer from me Audrey on SUNDAY. COYS

The match comes on at 11-30 am here Sunday.I'm usually at church at 10-30.
Before our game, they have two early games.Bloody cheek!

By the way Maggie,my wife comes from the mountains of Harlan,Kentucky. Her family actually lived on a mountain called "Ivy Hill". Nothing but trees.
No wonder Daniel Boone and his followers had a job coming over the Cumberland Gap.They had to chop trees down to make a pathway.

I'm about to watch Atlanta United in the MSL,so I will close and say "Night all!"
