All depends on what you consider to be 'big'. If you think silverware is the only factor, then fair enough. But I think everyone on the continent and around the world considers Liverpool one of the biggest. Certainly a bigger club than Man City, who win the Prem most years.
For me it is a combination of factors. Fan base, stadium size/attendance, historic success, current success, revenues etc. So whilst Man City are of course more successful at present than liverpool, they fall behind in every other category and therefore I'd say Liverpool are indeed a bigger club.
who cares about league points we almost drew total suprise this season our defence - i thought it would be rock solid but it turns out it isnt
So if you're going by that where do United come into this? I agree that those two are miles ahead of everyone else here.
Yeah, still a massive club. Them and Liverpool like you say. I think what's impressive is that a club can go 30 years without winning the league, and still legitimately claim to be the biggest club in their own country. English football has been ruined by billionaire investors for the past 10-15 years. If there had been some kind of restriction on that, it would be a different story.
I just don't get the love. Nearly every red I've spoke to this summer has come across as arrogant & entitled. And they think that winning the CL has actually done football a favour. I find it utterly bizarre. I'd honestly prefer to see Poch win something.....and that really is saying something. (as a few of you will know my dislike of spuds runs deep)
I’ve just been able to watch the highlights. It takes me a while when we lose How did Ings miss that? Talk about being handed it on a plate. That’s not very striker like at all. I like Danny but he looked a bit baffled didn’t he and I have the moment here where he says ‘oops’ in his head.
It was a shocking miss. The sort of chance you pray for. No need to hit it right, just touch it. Got faith he'll get the next one though.
"Love"? I just give respect where I think it's due. I'd be saying the same if it was Chelsea or Spurs. The rest of your argument is entirely subjective. "I met some fans and they were dicks" could be said of any single club in the world. Personally Spurs and Chelsea fans irritate me more, but not to the point that I would keep living in denial if they were to be successful. The whole 'Anyone but Liverpool' thing was funny to a point, but when it got to the stage of England fans booing Van Dijk in the Eng vs Ned game, I thought that was embarrassing to be honest.
