SEE - I told you so, when will you lot EVER listen to me? I said all along for the past 3 transfer windows that Pulis should buy Jerome at ANY cost!! All you lot could do was rubbish me, well who is having the last laugh now eh - Just making my breakfast: Oatcakes an HUMBLE PIE
M - that's because I AM a grumpy (very) old matelot who hasn't had his grog OR Espresso!! Joe - Have a good day one and all
thought you were, me i'm a middling aged ex matelot, who still likes his grog and drinks far too much of it. Roy
I had to look matelot up so I thought others might not know either A matelot is a mean, hard drinking, fast running, mealy mouthed son-of-a-bitch, but when you are in strife he is a strong shoulder to lean on, a pillar of wisdom, and a defender of the faith and cause. He fights for his mate, and dies for his country, without question or hesitation! He can start a brawl, create a disaster, offend the law, desert his ship, make you lose your money, your temper and your mind! Kinda fits Nick
Often found difficult to pronounce correctly. Looks like mate-lot pronounced Mat-Low Ye thats about as good a discription as i've seen. KTF and up the Andrew
Bleedin hell you are a true old sea salt, me 78-87, so just a sprog. Still miss the open ocean, if i won the lottery you can guess what one of the first things i would buy. Just build them these days for fun, drives my wife nuts
Just a lad Roy! My pic is of my first ship. - HMS Scorpion - in a bit or 'roughers', the bloody thing was more like a submarine than a destroyer! Cheers mate
Nick I too was erm, jubious when T.P. got Jerome in... HOW wrong can we be? Time will tell but looking at him last night long may that continue. With decent service from wide areas he could be a bargain buy. Placious too! Crouch? I didn't see the Liverpool game so I won't comment on him, it's too early to judge a player anyway. It didn't know the word mentioned above but I've always sensed that you are at times. Just like me, a grumpy old begger. Have a good day guys
Thanks Joe I beg your pardon Potts, waddya mean at times! This attitude of mine has not happened by chance, it has taken years of diligent practice!!
Nick Practice? or does it just come naturally... don't change what you are. Not that you would of course, Old dog, new tricks as they say. Off to keep the wife happy, Wedding Ana.... on Saturday might go mad and take her out for a meal. somewhere romantic like up North. We leave at six mate.. will keep posting whilst in N.O.Tyne.. take in the Sunderland game thats assuming I can make it with the G.N. Run taking place. Will post a few times over the weekend maybe, that's if I can stay sober Nick. I find it difficult too, Geordies and fond of the Newky brown stuff me too Will be back home sometime on Monday, don't know which Monday for sure though.
Nick and Mithrand...am an old seadog meself, but was in the Merchant navy 1974-84. Had the same fears about Jerome....seems he's proved us wrong, long may it continue.
Thanks Potts have a great weekend .Hope the drinks are celebrating a good result and not drowning sorrows!!
