Regarding AVFC I have been impressed by the teamwork shown in pre-Season and hope this is carried on into the main Season. We had a comfortable Pre-Season win at Walsall yesterday (24/07/2019) : Walsall 1-5 Aston Villa

 

I see Micah Richards has retired
Will you be giving him a testimonial ?

27/07/2019 : Pre-season Charlton Athletic 1-4 Aston Villa

Despite a few 'technical difficulties' (aka loss of picture and/or sound !) this was another excellent workout for AVFC yielding a comprehensive win. Our goals came from El Ghazi to give a 1st half lead, then 3 more in the 2nd half, one from Green then a brace from McGinn, his second perseveringly earned. Charlton's goal was from a penalty.

 

31/07/2019 : AVFC Official has stated that our game in Germany will not be on AVFC YouTube. Instead, it will be shown live on Premier Sports. The KO time is 14:30 hours.

09/08/2019 : This will be the first match at Tottenham's new stadium and what better opening could it have than for Villa to do a North London 'double' and score the first goal there ... as we did at Arsenal.

EPL (Premier League), Saturday 10/08/2019 : Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Aston Villa

I had forgotten about Tottenham's game against Crystal Palace back in April ... otherwise John McGinn would have opened the scoring at Tottenham's new stadium. A pity AVFC did not get a result, but it seems we were under siege for most of the match. Tottenham equalised in the 73rd minute then got two more in the last 4 minutes ... Mr Kane with both.
We are not going to win every match and if we have to lose then I would rather it be to Tottenham than to any other EPL side.

You started well,and took the lead,slightly against the run of play,but J Mc took goal well.
Thought you sat back a bit in 2nd half and invited Spurs onto you.
As with us,an away defeat is not the end of the world.

Christmas form by the looks of it, giving away a penalty in the 1st minute. A Luiz error enabled Bournemouth's 2nd, although he atoned for that by scoring in the 2nd half. So no home win at Villa Park today and at the cricket, England are not doing too well either. One of those days !

25/08/2019 : As ever with this sort of tie, the higher ranked team is on a hiding to nothing. Nevertheless I expect to see a win for AVFC ... and without any need for a post Full-time penalty shoot-out !

League Cup Round 2, Tuesday 27/08/2019 : Crewe Alexandra 1-6 Aston Villa

A comprehensive victory against a spirited opposition it seems. This is the sort of result we should expect from AVFC in these sort of ties.

EPL (Premier League), Saturday 31/08/2019 : Crystal Palace 1-0 Aston Villa

I would not have predicted this score (if I had remembered to predict !) and would have gone for a draw, which is how this match should have finished. That it did not was due to a refereeing error apparently, Grealish being booked for 'diving' just before Lansbury equalised Ayew's opener for Palace. Our goal was disallowed and we lost, no thanks to Mr Friend, who had earlier sent off Trezeguet for a 2nd yellow card.
