Sorry if I didn't make myself clear. I wasn't talking about the Council I was talking about the Labour Group and the horse trading during leadership elections.

Having known Steve Brady for decades, before he became a Councillor, I believe he promised Allam the freehold.

I know you do, and you know I don’t

(I understand how the Groups work too, but still think the same. No big deal, we just disagree)

Having discussed it with Brady and Allam directly, I'm absolutely certain he didn't.

Well he should have done, on a very, very long lease, and worked with them in a partnership or sorts to develop the stadium and surrounding area. Instead **** all has happened and probably never will.

There'd be absolutely no issue with extending the lease, but Assem wasn't interested in a lease extension, only the freehold and was he wasn't interested in any sort of partnership with the Council either.

If anyone wants to buy the freehold of the stadium, there's a deal to be done (if they actually offer money to buy it), but the fair site isn't available, so any development would be limited to the existing site. Though both Pearson and Deacon both came up with plans to develop only the existing site.

Yet Geraghty rhapsodised about what our world famous rugby clubs brought to the city. Though when was the last time you saw 2,5000 people in the away section apart from the biggest derby in the universe.

When Hull was awarded City Of Culture anywhere else would have made something that it was the only city with aPremier League club in the biggest county in the country. What did Geraghty say? “This will be a great opportunity to see what a sporting city Hull is. Not only do we love our rugby league but darts and wrestling as well”.
Yet people kept voting clowns like this in year after year.

They stopped voting for him just after (or just before maybe?) he said that didn’t they?

Everyone has their views and tend to use whatever else they hear, either directly or indirectly, to reinforce them, so few if any are liable to shift their position, which means we're stuck in loops as we are on this thread, and there's a possibility that will continue with new owners.

The constant in the club are the fans (yes, I know the individuals change), so in my opinion, the way forward is to see what common ground we all share, which on a fundamental level is supporting the football club, which happens irrespective of the owners.

Instead of years of circular discussions, why not use the time and energy to see what fans can achieve despite whoever the owners may be?

Let's face it, the current methods haven't moved us on much, if anything, they've contributed to the problem.

I shouldn't worry about it, someone will be along in a bit to tell you your views soon enough. <ok>

He retired. After being pushed out by his local party I think. People didn’t stop voting for him or vote him out.

They say of Christopher Wren when in St Paul’s Cathedral “ If you want to to see his monument look around you”.
Same could be said of Geraghty and Orchard Park.

I thought he was deselected by Labour, but stood as an independent?

No. It is a typo and meaningless. In this country it is 25,000, not 2,5000. Or even 25000 for that matter.

Deselected = pushed out by his own party. He wasn’t voted out by his constituents on Orchard Park.He wouldn’t get in as an independent. As you know in most areas in Hull put a Labour rosette on a donkey they would get in. And they do.

    Like clarification:

Inclusion of the verb 'rhapsodised' in post.

    Clap Clap Clap.
