I don’t know what’s more surprising? That was 11 years ago or remembering Caleb Folan scoring the winning goal. It’s passed by very quickly. Look at the stadium on a match day now!
We had some joy against Fulham. That 6-0 win at home. My mate was talking about going home as we had our half time cig (His missus had just given birth to their first child a week before). He said we're not going . to score. I talked him into staying. Second half BOOM
I remember that Fulham 6-0 as being about the only home game where I was able to relax for the last 20 mins. After being 3-0up v Everton after 27 mins and hanging on desperately for the entire second half, as they dominated at 3-2 and had us pinned in our own box, never really felt relaxed again when we were in front.
Remember it well. Ended up Singing all night round the old town with our kid. Wigan gate crashed the party next home game from memory, forgot score but City got well hammered.
I was with my Dad for that Everton game and at 3-0 up I said "This is a nice easy one, Dad". "It's not over yet" he said. Nah, relax and enjoy it, I said. Oops
I was front row North Stand next to the goal for that match. I will always remember seeing Tim Howard's look of 'oh ****!' the instant Andy Dawson hit the free kick. He seemed to immediately know it was unstoppable.
Eh? From what you've said you'd have been about 10 or 11 years old? 10/11 to early 20s seemed like a ****ing life time - well, did to me.
