Jay Dasilva: Bristol City left-back sidelined for up to five months Bristol City left-back Jay Dasilva will be out for up to five months with a stress fracture in his lower leg. Dasilva, 21, had been expected to miss at least five weeks, but a scan showed the injury is worse than first thought. The England Under-21 international joined the Robins on a permanent deal from Chelsea in June after spending last term on loan at Ashton Gate. "That's a big loss really for the squad and team, but sometimes it's character building," said head coach Lee Johnson. Johnson told BBC Radio Bristol: "It's caught us a bit blindsided - he's going to be out for four to five months. "We've got players that can play in that position. (Pedro) Pereira can play left-back if needed and (Nathan) Baker at a push could go out there, even (Callum) O'Dowda could slot into that role and (Tommy) Rowe has been fantastic." https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49362561
Just our luck, sign up one of the best young left backs available, pay the bucks, happy with the deal, one match and he is seriously injured and out for at least 5 months.
Too much of a coincidence for my liking Pro rata we must get more lengthy/serious injuries than most other teams combined.
Current injury list ~ Korey Smith has had a metal plate removed to allow the wound in his foot to heel. Jay Dasilva has suffered a setback and is now expect to be sidelined between four and five months. The left-back has a stress fracture of his tibia. Saikou Janneh has started a recovery programme following knee surgery. Pedro Pereira could return after recovering from a dead leg.
Every club has injuries, it's sport, it happens.....I don't see our club doing anything wrong...... On a positive.....................it will feel like a new signing once he's recovered...(although he is one I know!!)
Obviously you guys have watched far more than me from my armchair. He's small, lightweight and for my liking has been caught with the diagonal behind him. The big minus for me is that LJ then picks BW in a 3. He's a disaster waiting to happen.
I think we have been very, very unlucky tbh, almost all of the injuries have been sustained 'in-game'. If they were training ground injuries, then for sure the training regime should come under question?
Up to a month they said on Sky on Tuesday night. We are cursed in the injury department over the last 2-3 years I also see that Pack is now out injured for about a month at Cardiff as well, does make you wonder if City’s training regime is too much, or is it simply dumb luck?
