So we have just had a bid accepted for a player who was on trial here but we then decided to let go! WTF is going on at our club? The management clearly don't know their arses from their elbows! This just smacks of desperation. https://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/36502/vincent-young-bid-accepted-report
He was obviously not that great on his trial or we would have signed him then, not seeing the problem. Right back is certainly a weak spot in the squad with Donacien the only viable (and somewhat laboured) option at present. But what we really need more than anything is forwards.
Exactly! Now we are spending money on bringing him back! Surely there are far better options out there!
If anything Warky, it is a bit strange to have a trial for a player we should have been keeping an eye on with scouting. Although these would have been McCarthy's scouts and not Hurst's - which does point to some of the problems we have at the club where things are not joined up. In days gone by the majority of scouts were loyal to the club, not the manager.
I've got no issues with this, in fact I think it is precisely the signing we need. Okay, so Vincent-Young might not have impressed a few years ago on a fortnight trial (and I've heard how we offered him a contract, but Colchester gave him a bigger contract to retain him). Either way, we're in a division below now and we clearly need quality in the full-back departments. Vincent-Young is considered a key player for Colchester United and looks to have the right blend of attacking and defensive attributes and quality. Currently at right-back, we've currently got Donacien who is not rated by the manager, is defensively okay - but lacks any initiative or ambition when he gets past the half-way line. Meanwhile, Emmanuel has squandered almost every opportunity the club has given him over the past few years, and last season he struggled to break into a lower mid-table Shrewsbury side. In fact, there are rumours that Emmanuel might be included in the deal. No question that we also need to bring in another striker, but I think right-back is a key weakness for us and this looks like it will be a good move for us.
I can only guess that Emmanuel is a decent footballer who gets stage fright when he plays in the first team.
And in response to the title: 'This Is No Way To Support A Football Club' https://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town...social-behaviour-after-racist-chants-at-luton Hope they ban the culprits. Embarrassing.
This kind of sentiment is growing because of Brexit and unfortunately we can't expect Suffolk to be immune from it. Chants EDL slogans -> Does DNA test -> Finds black ancestry Shameful.
I'd prefer they did community service (or whatever it's called now) so that they put something back rather than be even more of a burden on society.
Of course she isn’t. That was a ridiculous idea but far less ridiculous than the cabinet we actually have.
If it had been a male MP that suggested an all white male cabinet she would have been the first one denouncing him as the son of Satan! That's the trouble with these Liberal Lefties, bloody hypocrites the lot of them. Emma Thompson flying First Class from LA to join the climate change protests for a good photo opp and then fooking off again all First Class of course darling!
Warky - first of all, women are only just beginning to have equal opportunities with men in all walks of life, but there is still a massive way to go. In parliament it is very slowly evening out thanks to initiatives such as all women shortlists. So making a suggestion to give women opportunities is not the same as suggesting men. - secondly, the comments were a response to Boris Johnson's ALL MALE 'Brexit war cabinet'. Lucas is perfectly entitled and correct to make the point. - next, being white in this country is not equal or equivalent with being black. Just ask Tammy Abraham. White men do not have their prospects and opportunities held back by their race or gender. If some of us miss out as the country slowly drags itself out of the dark ages then all the better. - thirdly, you're right to call out Emma Thompson. Solving climate change would take real sacrifices and unfortunately it isn't going to happen in time, not least because of the recent actions of Brazil's vile President. All power to Greta Thunberg's uncompromising approach and for inspiring children across the world hopefully not to perpetuate the mistakes that our generations have done. If you really think an MP making a point about gender roles is the same as some meatheads chanting vile racist abuse that says a lot to me about your world view and sadly all that's wrong with it.
Whatever the position in politics, business, and employment in general, the best qualified people for that position must be engaged regardless of gender, religion, or colour, anything less than that is selling the Company, or country short and to have mixture for the sake of PC is ludicrous mismanagement on a grand scale.
If it were a level playing field then absolutely. But it isn’t which is why we still have a vast majority of men in powerful positions. It’s not political correctness. It’s slowly correcting injustices ingrained in society by centuries of white male domination.
