I got half way through it. No he's not worth a watch. So, every time Trump has paid someone off it was because they were making things up and not because he was covering up something he did? Surely if you didn't do it and it was then proved in court that would be good publicity? Anyway this doesn't deserve any more of my attention. It's utter bollocks and you believe it
Trump is like religion ... any evidence of wrongdoing is just debunked by his acolytes as fake news Its clearly a world conspiracy of the the well-informed to smear him in his quest as a humble billionaire to stand up for the little guy
Now there's ten minutes of my life I'll never get back. Banana, you really need to get out of your echo chamber. Vin
Amazed that no one has picked up upon Caroline Lucas' comments this morning about things being better with an all-woman cabinet. I was staggered by this report which was based upon a suggestion that this was ideal for a government of national unity. If the shoe had been on the other foot and it referred to a male only cabinet, you would have thought someone like Nigel Farage had made the comment ! I am seriously disappointed with Caroline Lucas and think she gives ecological and environmental campaigns a bad name for her ill-thought out and ridiculous comments. I thought her comment to the BBC about granting an amnesty to ISIS members of a few years ago marked her out as a crank but if she is going to continue to make these kind of ridiculous comments the sooner the better Labour oust her from her seat in Brighton. It is really sad that the genuine problem with Global Warming will be undermined by the Greens coming upon with such stupid comments. I belong to a couple of organisations concerned with conservation and just think her remarks are just the thing that climate change deniers will pick up on. Her call out to the likes of Sturgeon and Plaid Cymru as well as a number of other Brexit-supporting female politicians makes her sound like the fringe candidate at student hustings. Good that the often maligned Dianne Abbott called her out immediately. Lucas is so poor as to make you think fondly of Harriett Harman !
Universal Basic Income is a subject that is starting to catch fire because of automation. Here is Answers with Joe [yes, American, there's a video from the European economic perspective]: And here's a TED talk on the same subject, though not from a USA perspective: I've known about UBI for several years now. And i can't see the major negatives with it. In fact, it frees the average person and makes them economically active. Which makes things better for a load more people. And, by the way, Mrs Thatcher's favourite economist, Milton Friedmann expected UBI.
The USA wants to be the first country to take the UK to the cleaners over trade: BBC News - UK 'first in line' for US trade deal, says John Bolton https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-49325620 And John Bolton is most certainly not to be trusted.
And Trump is getting ever more selective in his immigrants. For example, he'll accept the good people of Norway (who would be f**king idiotic to quit their country for the USA) rather than people from 'sh*thole countries': BBC News - Trump targets legal migrants who get food aid https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-49323610 Trump? He's not racist all. Or xenophobic for that matter. Thoroughly reasonable person who just happens to think everyone, bar himself and his little cotery of yes people, is a worthless piece of sh*t.
This is just me pondering: China sells the US a washing machine that poorer people can afford at $100 Trump slaps a 25% tariff on Chinese washing machines Trump says he's bringing in millions to the US treasury by applying the tariff (which is true) The washing machines now cost $125 but they are still the cheapest and the poorer people still buy them so who paid the tariff?
I'm probably wrong but I'll post anyway and somebody can correct me. The importer actually pays the tariff. The shop/manufacturer (any everyone further up the chain) then has to sell for more to make a profit on the additional import costs. Consumers have to pay more for the final product. This creates less demand so less sales and shops make less profit possibly meaning they hire less staff. China sells less so they make less profit and means they hire less staff to produce the goods. Goods that were deemed inferior or of poorer value by consumers may become more attractive and make more sales. (This can cause more negative effects due to poorer goods) This will alleviate the loss for shops somewhat and may help competitors buisnesses. Trump gets extra money from the chinese goods that are still sold which is used to fund his wall. (paid for by the increased amount the American consumer pays) Only pure winners are trump and the people who make goods the public didn't want. I love a good cause and effect chain.
you can't! I just said $125 to make the sums easy! (but now I've had to look up UK prices for washing machines! 169 Great British Pounds was the cheapest. Wait 3 months and it'll be 125!) Edit ... sorry 300
