Surely he'd be worth a punt.... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/footbal...annel=social&ns_campaign=bbc_match_of_the_day
Lies, dam lies and statistics. His overall record is impressive, 145 goals in 327 games but most of them came while he played in Holland and in his first spell with Swansea. Since Jan 2015 his stats have been 19 in 78 but for the most part at a higher standard than League 1. The Anichebe comparison looks to be an accurate one. However 'Free Agents' will start to become more obvious now and we may yet get lucky.
I'm sure I saw him photographed at a league two club on the BBC website yesterday and now I can't find it. It's a no from me we've had enough end of career moves to our club we need young (ish) hungry players not someone wanting to put his feet up.
Unless for some reason he's finished mentally or physically then it's a no brainer. Just the kind of forward we need and he's only 30.
When he got his £££ move to City he put his feet up Awesome when he could be bothered, but that was ages ago
Lazy as ****. Wouldn't fit in here. There's a reason he went from a £30m player to training with Newport County isn't there?
Got to train with someone, doesn't mean he's going to sign for them. There are question marks over his attitude for sure but with the quality he has he'd absolutely be worth a short term contract for any league one side. We really need a goalscorer in case Grigg and Wyke don't cut it again.
I doubt anyone could afford his wages to be honest. He'll end up in Turkey or somewhere similar I'd guess.
Aye he'll get a decent money offer based on his Man City connection, too expensive for us most likely. Not sure where we are in terms of the wage bill but it's probably tight as a ducks arse.
I think the wage bill is the issue. Initially Donald/Methven said we could feasibly still afford the high earners, Catts, Oviedo etc. but we have had to get rid of them for nothing to get the wages down. I'm not sure we'll see much more movements on transfers.
Probably not, maybe enough for a couple of decent loans or one or two league one quality free agents.
He lives in Wales, that’s likely why he’s training with Newport. There’s no way we’d pay him anything like what he’d want, even though he’s been absolute rabbit **** for 4 year.
