We could have been 3-1 down at half time after they hit the woodwork twice. The big difference in the 2nd half was that our midfield got on top, with Williams in imperious form and Conor Gallagher looking a class player. Pratley & Cullen also did well. Our defence creaked a bit at times today, and we must abandon that tactic of Dillon and Pearce playing Russian roulette with their backpassing near our goal. Taylor took his goal well and Aneke looked a handful when he came on. With the two lads from Brighton to come in, as well as Sam Field, things are suddenly looking a lot brighter.
Pratley and Cullen looked good in midfield. Williams scared them, I’m surprised he lasted so long before being subbed
Dog walking legend @AllHellLetLoose called the line up exactly right, with just about every player at least an “8” yesterday, and several 9 or 10. The midfield now looks so much more fluid and assured with Cullen back in it. He reminds me of another Kinsella/ Parker, and up against the likes of Joe Allen and Tom Ince each week, is exactly the standard that you need at this level. That said, I would still take 50 points & safety ASAP.
Poor Chris Solly can't play the way he used to any more. His nimble feet and speed on the turn enabled him to get tight on a player without getting skinned, but now he daren't risk it, and has lost a huge part of the game which made him so good.
I can see us bringing in a free agent RB next week... and probably offering him the starting role at RB.... unless the lad from Wimbledon steps up to the plate in the Forest Green game.
A free transfer signing is on the agenda. I don't think that Hamed will be joining. The documents arrived thirty five seconds late. This info came from someone who would know.
According to Bow he had nothing to do with it. Jacko, Andy Marshall and Brett Shaw the analyst were the brains behind this little beauty.
Good to see the owners investment during the Summer is paying dividends Now that RD Is backing Bowyer does RD get the fans backing? #creditwhereitsdue
Considering how fastidious you are for stats I'm surprised you didn't notice that our squad has the lowest valuation in the Championship. The owner s outlay in the summer amounted to the princely sum of £200,000 for Bonne, which was paid for by the development fee we got for Aribo. I think the bookies still have us down as favourites for relegation despite two fine wins.
Not quite true FHB, Purrington cost £300000, if the Hamed deal goes through I don't know if he spent money there or it was a free. It is still the lowest budget in the Championship.
