Yeah, you have had a decent window. Some of the players you bought look promising. In all honestly, though I am hoping we can win, I am probably expecting a draw. Too many players missing, a number of key players lacking match fitness/injured and it is the first game of the season at a very tough ground. We have high hopes for youth academy prospects Willock and Nelson, but they may need time to settle into the season. That team we have lacks a bit of creativity, though. And we may have a few issues on the flanks, as Mkhitaryan isn't good enough, but he will probably still be selected. Defensively is obviously the main worry and it's where I am still not entirely convinced we will be much better than the previous year. This will obviously suit you lot. If we have a strong-looking bench (i.e. Lacazette, Pepe and Ceballos as options), then I think we could maybe nick it late on. But, as with most of our contests at St. James Park, I expect a tight, cagey game.
How many times have you seen Maximiniminumius and Joe Linton play competitive football to make that wild statement?
Seen joelinton 3 times and i can max is better than perez. Weve also got willems whos very good. We are stronger than last season going fwd but whether we can still do so and be so good at the back I dunno.. we are a better side than we get credit for. Since dec last season no.side outside top 6 scored more points... arsenal are not at full strength ... still favourites but im accurate in my assesment and im always right ask the toon board.
Absolutely weapon bench, slightly soiled first XI. However... Newcastle are ****ing ****e. If we really want top 4 then this is a gimme, even if first game of the season. If we get scared into a draw or loss then Emery basically has a twelve month death sentence.
You've warned me and I don't care. Newcastle are still ****e. My best friend is a Newcastle fan and even he says they're about as ****e as they've ever been. ****e team, ****e manager. If you win then it will because we've been even worse and deserve to midtable.
No creativity either Auba is going to struggle today if this keeps up,The Toon must have been delighted when they saw our team sheet.
I know its the first game of the season and its away but that was dire, thankfully its the Toon we are playing and not one of the stronger sides.
Very weak starting XI for me... Seriously not one summer signing? I understand they need to be bed in a little but surely some of them should have been ready.
