But didn't that dig us out a point we never looked like getting an hour into the game. He's got to sort his best team and formation out and stick too it, and he's got to find it pretty damn quick as he's just piling pressure on both himself and the team when really there's no need as he's had enough time to get to grips with this division. Id pick my best eleven if I was him next Tuesday and tell them to go out and express themselves as this cup game is a free but for us.
Put Kimpi in on Tues because he should be getting a chance like Sterling did not last season, start with the team finished today next week Jack. Had a bet on 1-1 with Mcgeady scoring first !.
The stats indicate that scoring and creating chances is our biggest problem..i think we had one shot first half. Even the best sides often concede one goal.. But they score several goals...
and you forgot back scuttling exhaust pipes mate, only the extremely large ones of course, as they all have mufflers and can't hear the screams of the extra large portion.
I made that classic mistake alot of blokes make. I got really drunk and ended up having sex with my best friend. Now I cant even bring myself to talk to him, let alone play fetch with him down the park!
Just watched the highlights and here's my thoughts on the game. Ipswich at home first game of the season, near full house and they got a good win on the road last week. Are we not surprised at how they played first half? High pressing in our faces well up for the game, appealing to the Ref for everything in and around the box we never got going and in truth we weren't allowed to get going and we go in at half time a goal down and were lucky it was only one however saying that how many difficult saves did our keeper have to make. second half JR got into them at half time changes our system they run out of steam a little and we force our way back into the match and in the end get a result that most would have settled for before kick off. fans get upset as we're not winning every game but football isn't that simple and without producing 90 minutes of top quality football were unbeaten, not out of either game totally and having our keeper to work heroics to keep us in either match. Now the hard work for JR and the team is to stop our slow starts which has been our downfall from day one and put together a full performance every week and finally get a grip of this physical and demanding league. can they do it well that's the big question that only time will tell.
Good points. A simpler formation with emphasis on attack would help our derpy players who don't seem able to grasp five at the back, but the real problem is us consistently being out worked and out fought and it happening from kick off.
Nacho Were still a big scalp in this league and we can expect teams to race out the blocks straight from the kick off, especially yesterday and we need to find a way of nullifying that instead of conceding and then chasing the game almost every week. I actually find it a bit disrespectful that our fans don't realise that other clubs have a perfect right to make each and every game as difficult as possible, be it getting into our faces or kicking lumps out of us. How Jack does that is a little more complicated than us just attacking and pushing teams back, the whole team need to address this issue, how we do it is what Jack is getting a very decent wage to sort out but it needs sorting now.
First of all it was a great atmosphere at PR yesterday and great credit to the 1847 Mackems who made the long trip South. Out of a total attendance of 24,000 your fans contributed to the cracking atmosphere. I very much doubt that many teams will bring that level of support to PR this season. As for the game itself I have to say that first half your lot were disappointing but I think that the way we pressed you from the front contributed. Your keeper looks dodgy at kicking. It's fair to say that we had the majority of the play and deserved our lead at half time. My biggest concern is that we didn't finish you off when we had the chances. Second half we looked more disjointed due to an enforced sub and you gained the initiative but without creating much in the way of chances. Our keeper had very little to do. As for our Captain Calamity he decided to gift you the equaliser. All he had to do was clear the ball into row Z but instead he dallied with it and lost possession. It feels like a defeat for us as we should have won that game. Early days but I think both teams will be promoted at the end of the season. Two good footballing sides. Best of luck fir the rest of the season and looking forward to our trip to the North East for the return.
Firstly they need to be confident in their roles, I'm thinking of the defence, there's too much confusion and hesitancy and other teams are pouncing on it. My solution would be to simplify the formation to a back four. Secondly we need to match them for energy and pressing from the off, sure we'll be tired later but we won't be a goal down and our subs bench is the best in the league.
