A wider point to maybe discuss another time is time wasting. Huddersfield at it from 60mins today and almost came back to bite for them. Not throwing stones at Huddersfield specifically as we were doing exactly the same away from home last year and those in glass houses etc etc. But I don't pay money to go and watch people try and wind down the clock. With some of the sensible changes to the law this year, maybe they could think about doing something about time wasting next? Might simply be a case of encouraging refs to utilise rules that already exist.
Agree......plenty of running into space on that side. Can see Kane and Chair forming a good understanding on that side......hope they both get 90 mins on Tuesday
Would like to see what Pugh can do on Tuesday too as thought BOS was one of our least effective today and I'm normally a fan of his
Sorry for all my late comments, but I watched the 2nd half in a “live mode” with a 45 minute delay. I personally am pleased with the result. Unbeaten in 2 matches and 4 points against Stoke (away) and relegated Huddersfield. Have a great weekend! Cheers!
Report and highlights (although it doesn't show the tackle on Manning that should've been a red card....) Match Report - QPR 1 - 1 Huddsf'ld | 10 Aug 2019 https://www.skysports.com/football/qpr-vs-huddsfld/report/409369
Forgettable first half entirely apart from Eze spurning a good chance he’d done well to create and a couple of semi-hairy moments defensively. One really poor challenge on Manning that was somewhere between yellow and red. I was bang in line with Kachunga’s run and first thought was offside but happy to be corrected. Would rather let him shoot but understand Barbet had to try something. From that moment Huddersfield were ****ing awful. Constant fouling, whining, running the clock down including a stoppage for the goalkeeper to replace his ripped shorts. We huffed and puffed but by the time the goal came I thought it wasn’t going to be our day. Bright had a good long range shot just over, Hugill had a free header from a corner but not a lot else. The few times we got in behind there was a ‘professional’ foul to break the game up but the huffing and puffing eventually paid off. For the last ten we were on top but don’t think we forced the keeper into much. Nice to see all three subs have a positive impact. Hard to pick a MOTM. Maybe Manning at a push.
I'll have to wait a few months for my first visit, delighted with what we've done in the Summer and our start to the season
Didn't see any of the game, but I'd have thought Chair should start ahead of Scowan, especially as we're spoilt for choice in midfield.
Can understand not wanting to change a winning team and Scowen is there for the pressing rather than a more creative player. Hudds rarely played it short though so it was kind of pointless. Think we’ll see Scowen more against the better sides and Chair/Wells/Pugh otherwise.
A first half with two sides playing 'proper football', which consisted mostly of passing sideways and backwards, until...... nothing happened. Second half was better after their stone wall penalty, which livened things up. A draw probably a fair result in the end. Eze started brightly, but faded, Scowen was awful, Amos wasn't very good, Kane looked decent when he came on. Hall MOM, mainly for his goal. Overall not much to get excited about.
Happy with four points from six in our first two games. Most of all, loving the positivity and constructive comments from fellow posters. It’s so nice to hear after some dire years. Sure, there will be some bad days, but can live with that if we come back fighting and take points. Sounds like a fair bit of tweaking and organising to be down, but fair play to everyone involved for getting a ‘tune’ from this group of players. Will be interesting to see what happens on Tuesday evening.
