I rarely comment on other people posts on here, I do believe in free speech on a forum..that said, you are one boring fukcer. We are 2 games in...get a grip.
Sad sad sad sad b*stard.Btw I do not believe this will be a genuine Newcastle fan who has travelled down there today. This is just a lad who lives down there or an Ipswich fan who has nborrowed a shirt. Why are we getting obsessed with these muppets.
Against teams that don't press, McGeouch and C. McLaughlin look tidy with the ball; but when pressed they become big liabilities.
You’ve decided this on McLaughlin in 2 games? Both against teams that have pressed us? When did you see the mythical game when he was ok then?
PLAYER RATINGS: Ipswich 1-1 Sunderland - Here’s how we rated the Lads after another bore draw Jon McLaughlin - 4/10 Looked uncertain at times and his distribution was particularly poor. Could maybe have done better for their goal, too. Conor McLaughlin - 2/10 Really poor today no matter his position on the pitch. Poor touch, poor positioning, poor passing. Woeful. Denver Hume - 2/10 Awful in possession and struggled throughout the first half until subbed off for Maguire. Tom Flanagan - 3/10 Really poor first half and marginally better in the second. How can he not play a simple ball instead of just lumping it long? Jordan Willis - 5/10 Also poor first half, but looked much more assured in the second. Showed some good pace when covering and got stuck in. Luke O’Nien - 4/10 Didn’t look comfortable on the right all game. George Dobson - 6/10 Came out of the game with some credit - passed well and tried to move the ball forward. A bit rash at times, but looks decent at this level. Dylan McGeouch - 4/10 Largely anonymous. Recycles play well, but caught out at times by Ipswich’s high press. Marc McNulty - 6/10 Industrious and did well to win the ball and supply Lynden Gooch for his goal. Lynden Gooch - 5/10 Frustrating. Scored a good goal to steal a draw, but needs to improve his distribution. Same old in terms of hanging onto the ball for too long and failing to play a killer ball. Aiden McGeady - 4/10 Didn’t do a great deal, to be honest. (SUB) Chris Maguire - 5/10 Some good ****housery, but struggled to really make his mark on the game. Lacks that killer ball. (SUB) Will Grigg - 5/10 Tough on this. Grigg helped us keep the ball in the final third at times, but had the chance to win it if his movement was better. Looked busy today, but still struggling in front of goal - which isn’t all his fault. (SUB) Alim Ozturk - N/A Only on for the last few minutes and made one block. Man of the Match: The cameraman’s first half performance was impressively poor, but still better than any Sunderland player. His shots of the stadium’s ceiling was much needed during a dire opening firty-five. In all seriousness, though, I think McNulty perhaps deserves it for his perseverance and winning the ball that led to Gooch’s goal. Difficult job picking someone today, though.
In the friendly, McLaughlin was linking up with Gooch and the forwards with frequency and accuracy. I didn't notice the Oxford press as we had something like 58% possession. Today we were smothered.
Surprised we got a draw. Ipswich must be a bit **** if they couldn't finish us off. If Jack Ross keeps this up he will be collecting his P45 by October. That would be a real shame after a lot of early promise but this is his squad to mould into a team that can compete for the title. Nee excuses
The player ratings this season have really irked me so far. I'm comforted to know that the guy writing them is likely watching the matches on his cell phone. I'm always way more interested in what folks on here have to say after they return home from the stadium.
In fairness to Ross he's had to assemble it with Tesco Vouchers and Green Shield Stamps , on the other hand same for Grayson but he plays more attacking football. I'm not a fan of Ross but Xmas seems fair time to judge when Wyke and Watmore have returned and McGeady is fully fit. Taxi for Hume mind, I often wondered about the Happy Clappers on here who bigged him up on the basis of jack s hit .
Do you think they intentionally draw games? They tried to win both games. Didn’t play well but avoided defeat in both games. 1st was a poor result but s3cind a decent one. I agree win one lose one but how can you guarantee that? Our home games are harder than probably anyone else’s in this division as our crowd get very nervy very quickly. It’s a good point today without playing well at all. Take it and move on
They do give the impression that the writer really doesn't give a **** and is just entertaining himself. Totally wrong last week to give Hume and Dobson both 4/10 when Hume had a truly horrible game and Dobson was pretty solid.
I thought Dobson was solid today as well. He had some important defensive contributions in our penalty area and his long passes that switched up the play bought us some breathing room against the press.
The first half performance was dire today - the worst performance under Jack Ross according to most of the journalists at the game. These first half stats (from BBC) give an indication of how bad we were. The second half was better but we had changed formation 3 times by then. The 3 at the back is not working and I hope that is put on the back shelf and left well alone.
Ross needs to stop believing he's Mourinho and stop these ludicrous experiments. Pick the team, keep it simple and play football. These players don't have the intelligence to keep switching formations ffs. They've struggled to learn one and they had to play three in the first hour. Ross man, we need to make more than two chances per game so sort it or **** off.
The reporter last week actually gave 4/10 to Jon McLaughlin but yeah he was harsh on Dobson (5/10). This weeks reporter just seems to mark low every game - school teacher fashion.
couldn't have put it better. we're league one, not trying to pit our wits against champions league oppo ffs. keep it simple and play to our strengths
