I'll be honest, I thought we would be much weaker going into the season. Amazed Bowen and Kamil (international window is still open)are still here, though not sure how Kamil will fit in with McCanns ideology? We look weaker up front, with Campbell (who would have been ideal for McCanns pressing game) not replaced. Long is probably not as strong as Marahall. Probably Defence and midfield are slightly stronger in terms of depth. May lose one or two wingers in January, but hopefully strong enough for another mid table finish. Off field, Enob's letter to supporters suggests they are going nowhere.
Add Dicko to the worst signings Hull City have ever made (based on the mainly spent.... £4 millions bees that stings... The boy had his trousers down there... and the less said about that the better.,..
a shipload of nonsense about "rejects" on here. our best player before xmas last season was probably villa reject elphick, who they were desperate to get back for the rest of the season as soon as they realised he was okay, before rejecting him again when the season ended (he's now at huddersfield). look what happened at west ham with snodgrass. even the chairman's son didn't want him there, so he got shipped off to villa, helped them to the play-offs, then west ham realised he was a decent player, and he racked up 38 games for them. for those with a longer memory, look what happened when dave bamber left here for blackpool.
Good summary from Rick , lots of unknowns but we've kept Bowen and Grosicki and if a couple of the new players work out well it could be a better season than we were expecting after the departure of Adkins
I was thinking the exact thing... both now have something to Really get their teeth into.... a lad who has got something To prove and aim at is exactly what we were looking for In my book....brilliant...
You just hope that it doesn't have a negative effect on Kamil and Jarrod. Of course their time will come to leave, but I hope that that seeing others move on for lots of money and wages encourages them to keep their names in the frame for January. Lets be honest, the only way Dastardly and Muttley will leave is (hopefully) from the revenue of the sale of the two players.
It shouldn't have too much of an impact, if anything Grosicki will have to play his arse off to get a good last pay day and Bowen, well, the world is his lobster. If he wants to follow Harry and Andy, he's gonna have to shine this year. I sincerely hope he does.
Like this lad... sounds like he really wants to Do well, yes I know they all say that but “proud to wear the hull city shirt” like that...
I really do think whoever replaces Campbell if they have a decent season will make a big difference to our side, I'm hoping obviously they score goals but just has importantly they hold the ball up well and bring others into play ( our wingers would benefit massively). obviously others have to play well but it's going to be interesting.
