After months wasted speculating who we'd sign, we at last know the makeup of our squad for the season. Didn't bother commenting till now and I don't think the last two signings were predicted by anyone till 48 hours ago. Must say I'm pleased overall with our business. On paper, the new lads look like a step up in quality from last season, of course it's on the pitch that'll count. Particularly pleased to have gotten Nketiah for several reasons. One, he's obviously excellent and highly regarded by the Arsenal fans and could be our Abrahams or Pukki. Second reason is his signing will take a lot of the pressure off Bamford and he may shine as a result. It wouldn't have been easy for him effectively being our only striker
Bielsa said he'd only sign anyone that was better than what we had and I think that has been the case. Our biggest problem last year was converting the hundreds of chances we got. With Nketiah and Costa we've added that touch of quality I think we needed, especially to break down 10 man defences. I think Ben White is going to be a star and I also think, from what I've read, we're better off without Jansson. It sounds like he was a meddler. I hope this is Jack Clarke's season too because he showed flashes of brilliance before his illness. It's all good and I can't wait. Because it's Leeds Florist will beat us 0-5 on Saturday, Nketiah will get homesick, Costa will get injured and Ben White will get sent off! Let's hope not
Still think we needed one more CB. Would have taken the Arsenal loanee, which would also help young Eddie to settle in. Hoping I don’t make myself look a right arse but this kid can score goals for fun.
Totally unrelated, but thought I'd share this little gem I read on FB. Apols if you've seen it before... THIS IS AN ACTUAL PASSPORT LETTER RECEIVED BY THE IRISH PASSPORT OFFICE-----HILARIOUS! Dear Sirs, I'm in the process of renewing my passport, and I am losing the will to live. How is it that Sky Television has my address and telephone number and knows that I bought a ****ing satellite dish from them back in 1995, and yet, the Government is still asking me where I was ****ing born and on what date. For **** sake, do you guys do this by hand? My birth date you have on my pension book, and it is on all the income tax forms I've filed for the past 30 years. It is on my PPS card, my driving license, my car insurance, on the last eight ****ing passports I've had, before being allowed off the plane over the last 50 years, and all those insufferable census forms. Would somebody please take note, once and for all, that my mother's name is Mary Anne, my father's name is Robert and I'd be absolutely ****ing astounded if that ever changed between now and when I die!!!!!! I apologise, because I'm really pissed off this morning. Between you and me, I've had enough of this ****! You send back the application form to my house, then you ask me for my ****ing address!!!! What the **** is going on? Do you have a bunch of neanderthal arseholes working there? Look at my ****ing picture. Do I look like Bin Laden? I just want to go and park my arse on some nice sandy beach somewhere and would someone please tell me, why would you give a **** whether I plan on visiting a farm in the next 15 days? Well, I have to sign off now, because I have to go to the other end of the ****ing country to get another ****ing copy of my birth certificate, to the tune of €30. Would it be so complicated to have all the services in the same spot to assist in the issuance of a new passport the same day?? Nooooooooooooo, that'd be too ****ing easy and maybe make sense. You'd rather have us running all over the ****in' place like chickens with our heads cut off, then have to find some arsehole to confirm that it's really me on the damn picture - you know, the one where we're not allowed to smile?! (bureaucratic ****in' morons) Hey, do you know why? We couldn't smile if we wanted to Because we're totally hacked off! Signed An Irate Citizen. P.S. Remember what I said above about the picture and getting someone to confirm that it's me? Well, my family has been in this country since 1776 .......... I have served in the military for something over 30 years and have had full security clearances over 25 of those years enabling me to undertake highly secretive work all over the world, and here in Ireland ......... However, I have to get someone 'important' to verify who I am - you know, someone like my doctor - WHO WAS BORN AND RAISED IN ****ING PAKISTAN ! Gobshites !!
Bielsa phrases his ‘better than what we have’ carefully and vaguely. It’s better than we currently have, in the squad...not implying white and Nketiah are better than Jansson and roofe. Nketiah is a talented prospect. That’s all. He could take the league by storm or he could be Sanchez watt. Look at the top premier club young loanees we’ve taken on recently. How many have been successful? We beat the mighty Bristol city to this lads signature, it’s not the coup of the century, it’s a big ****ing gamble... and it’s driven by money. I’m not knocking the lad, I’m looking forward to seeing him play and i’m hoping it comes off. Hoping. Best news this window was keeping Phillips
We did beat Bristol to his signature and another 29 clubs from what they say, don't think he's a Sanshez Watt.
The transfer window closed for Championship and Premiership teams yesterday but open still for lge 1+2 and Scotland until 31st, other countries have various dates when it closes I know that means we can't buy or loan in but can we still loan out to the clubs in countries that the window is still open, for example could Liverpool loan out or even sell Kent to Rangers or as all business stopped for both divisions.
I think so but not sure we can get a fee for them, I know we can't buy but not sure if we can still sell to teams that windows haven't closed yet.
I'm pretty sure you can buy & sell anyone you like, any time you like. It's when you come to register them that you find the door is closed. EDIT: The two exceptions for registration at any time I can think of are emergency goalkeepers & players who were out of contract when you signed them.
