Sorry if this has been reported on but can’t see a thread https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/afobe-joins-city-on-season-long-loan/
22 goals for Wolves 3 seasons ago, lost his way a bit since but a change could be the thing for him. I’m hearing Paterson has gone as well on season loan to someone
I can understand your thinking after some of the names we were being fed via the media but at 1o to 5 I was feeling really pissed off at the fact we had no striker coming in, we have now got one, Afobi, we wanted him here and he at least appears to have welcomed the opportunity and happily joined us. When you think of the 2 main characters we were supposed to be chasing Dwight Gayle who outright rejected us and Eddie Nketiah who didn't even turn up for a pre arranged medical, you can stick both where the sun don't shine. I don't know how good Benik will be but I for one welcome him here and well done MA and LJ for their persistence.
Lest we forget, he was valued at £12m in January 2019, 7 months ago, we have got hin on loan for the season, not abad bit of business and we have got a man not a boy on loan, shove that one up your spike all doubters of another football colour or ilk. Alistair Durden @alidurdenBBC Benik Afobe loan to #BristolCity now confirmed. Clearly not their first choice but let’s not forget Stoke paid a reported £12million for him in January.
Afobe could be a excellent signing, been talking to Stoke fans who reckon he will score loads for us,they say he was not played to his strengths. Afobe only 26 scored for fun in Wolves promotion season and did well at Bournemouth. Stokes highest scorer last season. A striker that can score loads in the championship better than Reid ,Hogan,Vydra. A step up on Fammy. Let's hope he starts at Brum.
With this being a loan signing, we should surely still have money left for the January window if we're in a good position, we can spend a bit bigger and hopefully attract a bigger player then. I'm happy with Afobe.
