Superb in Hull in the open air, but their stuff certainly lends itself to an orchestra and a big brass section
Heard the same orchestra recently with different artist (no hipster brass section though) and the sound was amazing Love PSB Jealous of you and those that have seen the two together
I've mean umming and ahhing whether to start watching that, you might just have made my mind up for me.
Der Pass on Sky Atlantic, all episodes downloadable. Good so far, the main cop guy is a very good actor
There's some great European series on BBC 4 ON a Saturday night . Compulsive viewing from October til April for me
Currently watching Evil Genius, it's a fairly bizarre case involving a very intelligent mad woman, a bank robbery, a bomb round a bloke's neck and a murdered boyfriend.
I recommend "The Boys" on Amazon. Not everyone's cup of tea but I thought it was a great takedown of the Superhero genre and a many aspects of modern life in general.
I've just watched series 8 as that was what was available and really enjoyed it. Different to what I expected, but well worth watching.
After seeing one or two I bought the full set and watched from the beginning. Although I like them all I prefer the post-war ones, series 6-8.
Same here. Love my fix of subtitled European crime drama on a Saturday night on BBC4. Has the added bonus of the wife not liking them and getting out of my way to sit upstairs. There was a discussion about film noir recently. Didn’t notice one of the best, Double Indemnity mentioned. It is on this Friday
For anyone interested in Latin American history, and how Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, and Peru won their independence from Spain in the first half of the 19th century, I strongly recommend the Netflix series "Bolivar" (a Mexican production I believe). Beautifully filmed and acted by an amazing cast, the only downside is that it involves SIXTY one-hour episodes, which may tax the patience of most viewers.!! For those willing to give it a go, I suggest passing up the first 25 episodes which cover Simon Bolivar's childhood and misspent youth in Europe, and starting watching around episode 26 when the "Liberator" begins to lead the enthralling struggle for LAM independence. The last 20 episodes in particular are great watching, culminating in the collapse of Bolivars political dreams amid his growing ill-health and ultimate death.
Same here she can't do subtitles Just started Below the Surface S2. MIND you none of the women at work can do subtitles neither ! Dark nights with a few beers and an empty living room is good stuff
Enjoying below the surface. My son and his partner not only won’t watch with subtitles, they won’t watch black and white movies. So they miss out on some of the all time greats. Especially the Third Man. They also will never enjoy Les Parapluies De Cherbourg.
