As if that was ever going to happen, linked with all these big players and all that will happen is Eriksen will leave. Levy is a genius
With Reed/Lemina off, central midfield is going to be pretty lightweight again, too. We have Hojbjerg, Romeu, JWP and Slattery, but there isn't a tonne of defensive presence in that group. Matches will certainly be interesting, heh.
Doesn't look like he is going anywhere unfortunately. 3 keepers all on big wages like 40k a week is shocking
Is there any decent centre backs in the youth setup (who move into the first team)? I'm a little baffled actually that we've not signed one. I'd say Bednarek and Yoshida are our best CBs (which is worrying), add Vestergaard if we play five at the back...
Just scanned through the last couple of pages and surprised no one has mentioned the rumours on Hormoso from Espanyol. Only a rumour but age and position fits Ralph’s brief.
But come on guys....you wouldn't want Ralph to bring in anyone who isn't better than we already have would you? So you have to expect some disappointment. After all it falls on his shoulders if we fail. I still think there could still maybe be some surprises....but only he knows!!
Well, no. Sims is still a youngster; 3 years younger than Redmond and Ward-Prowse. And he's proven that he can do a job at this level. I don't understand why people are so harsh to judge him. In April Ralph said that Josh has been the biggest surprise of all the players. I doubt he'd say that if he thinks he's not good enough.
I thought it was one of the fan accounts anyway. Didn’t realise it’s actually impersonating Saints haha! My bad!
I wasn't judging him, if anything its the last 3 managers that have done that. I think he has potential but for some reason not 1 manager has been prepared to risk playing him.
So with other players playing poorly (like Redmond), it's the previous managers' fault, but with Sims it's because he's not good enough? As I said, Ralph was clearly impressed, and the previous two managers are not even worth discussing. Sims is only a year older than Slattery, who everyone seems to rave about. I bet by the end of this season Slattery hasn't done as much as Sims had by his 21st birthday. Sorry if I'm coming across a tad defensive, but I rate him and I think it's only because he debuted so young that people expected more by now, but that isn't really fair on him. EDIT: Yoiks, two years above him apparently. One, two, it's all the same.
I think he showed massive potential when he first started playing, then for one reason or another (most likely previous managers) he hasn't progressed, in fact he seems to have gone backwards. I think this could be the last roll of the dice with him. If he goes out on another loan after returning from New York then I can't see him breaking into the first team especially as we now have a manager who is all about youth.
