Another ringing endorsement on his CV. A few years ago he was the hottest propect, then he began to believe his own publicity. Not the first and certainly won't be the last with the silly money they get today...
Probably this late bid for McKenna is one of them https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....ws/late-scott-mckenna-bids-anger-18858310.amp
No I think that is off now, Dave Mac saying we’ve ended interest in him & will now try & get a striker in poss wells
I'd be happy with Wells, if they money isn't exorbitant. I think he would suit Warburton's system much more than McClaren's and I could see him partnering well with Hugill.
Based on Saturday, Wallburton set up away from home much like McClaren usually did, with 1 main striker only. In that position Wells was poor, he wandered all over the park but seemed vaccinated against the opponents penalty areas.
The style of play, however, is very different, no? Lots more movement and shorter passing. I could see him playing well as one of the three behind Hugill, or giving us a very different option than Hugill when we need more finesse than a battering ram... Edit - I think he did wander around last year, as you say, but that's partly as he was getting such poor service he had to drop deeper and deeper to have any hope of seeing the ball. With a much improved midfield and defenders who can play the ball, I can see him doing better. I guess we'll see if we actually get him back!
Luongo gone to Wednesday (official) so that will free up some cash for Warburton to make a cheap signing. Shame McKenna seems off the radar now.
