It could be an interest drive as we debate who has the fattest arse, the loudest mouth and is the unfittest.
Why does it feel like everything hinges on Bianca? Are the shops nice in the Black Country? Okay, don't answer that.
Bristol want permanent deal ....West Brom a loan , Charlie will probably prefer West Brom as we would pay part wages.
She said no to moving to Newcastle.....she might prefer Bristol ....Cabot circus for shopping and family 45 miles down the M4.
Was never going to be done overnight....we are just in the middle of the initial shakedown. Unwanted players that Ralph doesn't use are the club's problem...as long as RH has a smaller squad he actually has to work with.
Unwanted players that Ralph doesn't use are the club's problem ------------------------------------ But it does effect the day to day running, and the moral. I really want Ralph to enjoy it here, but you can see the amount of pressure on him trying to deal with the mistakes of his predecessors. He'll be desperate to hear the whistle so his real job can start.
I think Ralph will be pleased with Che and Moussa, but I can't imagine him being very happy that we haven't (and don't look like) signing a centre back. Before the window even opened it was the most important position to improve on, and it seems like we won't be doing so (happy to eat my words at 5pm) which is a bit of a failure. I think we'll be fine this season nonetheless, but as HistoryRepeating says, I want Ralph to be happy here and not have a cloud lurking that could push him out if results aren't going well.
By that logic our CB's are all good enough as we're not replacing them. It's more the number of other players like Boufal JWP and Armstrong who have failed to own the position meaning we don't have enough space to give chances to all of them. If we had a couple of players who made the spot their own we wouldn't keep buying more and over filling the position and Sims would get his chances from the bench. Same problem with how we ended up with so many CB's. It's also why it's much easier for us to have full backs break through as we only have one senior.
I meant from the money POV...only players with a chance of playing should train with the squad...others should have access to the clubs facilities and kept fit and then we look again at shifting them in January. Their point of contact with the club shouldn't be Ralph.
Little bit from my Athletic subscription from the resident Saints reporter, nothing groundbreaking but - ---- Looks like the focus for Saints this Deadline Day will be on outgoing transfers than any new personnel. Hasenhuttl is said to prefer a 22 man sized squad and yesterday it was confirmed 22 year old winger Josh Sims has moved to New York Bulls on a loan deal until the end of the MLS season (he should be able to return to Southampton January). Expect Charlie Austin to be moved on today, but Mario Lemina a bit longer. The Gabonese appears more likely to move abroad, and the transfer window in mainland Europe is open until 31 Aug. When asked about a loan CB coming in - Unclear at the moment. Southampton are believed to want a new CB, but it seems as it the right person won't be found at their preferred price point. Saints are operating on a "sit down and have a think" whenever a player is quoted above 15m, which (in my opinion) doesn't get you the sort of quality defender Hasenhuttl desires.
