Not a thread for the younger fans, but it’s 25 years today since one of the best passers of a ball left this world. The bloke who used to pass the ammunition to Supermac and Tudor.

Yet how I remember him so fondly happened many years later. In the Leazes wing of the Milburn stand, late 80’s I reckon, where the old poseurs and noisy buggers used to go. I fell into both categories at the time. <ok>

Anyway, we were playing someone I can’t recall, but what was memorable was that we spotted Terry Hibbitt and his mate sat around 20 seats away. “****in hell, there’s Terry Hibbitt!”. Word quickly got round and “Terry Terry Terry Terry Hibbitt on the wing, on the wing” started. Half time there was well over a thousand singing to him. He absolutely loved it! He was on his seat, dancing away, fag hanging out of his mouth with a big smile on his face. As soon as the singing stopped, it started again and he was back standing on his seat, dancing away. He was in his element!

Anyhow, that’s my favourite memory of him. Anyone old enough to remember him will recall the FA Cup semifinal at Hillsborough.

And THAT ball, from Terry Hibbitt!

    RIP.

SuperMac always used to say that TH could start an argument in an empty room.

He was one heck of a passer and THAT ball was my favourite memory of TH. Replaced by Tommy Craig who was also a cracking passer but he just wasn’t TH.

Only 46 years old when he died, far to young.
One of the best passers of a football that I've seen in a B&W shirt.
I think they broke the mould with him.
