Bordeaux have agreed a £4.6m fee with Arsenal for Laurent Koscielny.

Shame to see things end so sourly for a player who has given 9 years of service, as well as winning multiple trophies with us.
However, at least the club are now forced to bring in another centre-half. And it's £110k p/w off the wage bill.
The fee is very low, but he is 34 next month and in the final year of his contract, so it's better than nothing.

Carl Jenkinson also in advanced talks with Nottingham Forest over a permanent transfer. Fee is reported to be anywhere between £2m and £5m.

Just need to get rid of Mustafi now...somewhat surprisingly, he is allegedly attracting a lot of interest from clubs across Europe. But, as you would expect, the main stumbling block are his wages. What were we thinking giving him £90k p/w?

    Ornstein confirming Koscielny exit..

"Fee agreed between Arsenal & Bordeaux for Laurent Koscielny is up to €5m max. Medical as we speak, contract needs finalising. #AFC hope to sign a centre-back + retain Kieran Tierney interest despite injury. Carl Jenkinson to Nottingham Forest talks advanced #FCGB #CelticFC #NFFC "

I wonder how much money we'll have freed up with the departures of some players.

    Laurent Koscielny - £4.6m transfer to Bordeaux - wages of £110k p/w
    Krystian Bielik - £10m transfer to Derby - wages of £25k p/w
    David Ospina - £4m transfer to Napoli - wages of £40k p/w
Xavier Amaechi - £2.5m transfer to Hamburg - wages unknown
Takuma Asano - £1m transfer to Partizan Belgrade - wages of £14k p/w
Aaron Ramsey - free transfer to Juventus - wages of £110k p/w
    Danny Welbeck - released - wages of £75k p/w (although some sources say £100k p/w <yikes>)
    Petr Cech - retired - wages of £100k p/w
Stephan Lichtsteiner - released - wages of £75k p/w (although some sources say £90k p/w)

In transfer fees, we've recouped approximately £22m and we've freed up roughly £550k p/w.

Obviously though, this is purely in terms of (significant) outgoings. Some of that wage money we've freed up has already been spent on getting Pepe, Saliba, Ceballos and Martinelli.

Plus 'Xavier Amaechi for £2.25 million' apparently this deal could rise to as much as £22m based on add-ons.
Also Jenks looks to be on the way out. Possibly Mustafi too?

For once we are receiving money for our unwanted players, whereas previously we didn’t seem to do so. Are the people in charge of this and contract negotiations getting better or are they new people.
If we can get rid of Mustafi and sign or loan a CB that area is covered.
If Jenks goes we need Tierney in and we can cover till he is fit.

i are Germans are sniffing around Willock - we cannot let him sign elsewhere as he has real potential

Willock reminds me of a young Yaya Toure. Imperative that we keep him, he's got a great career ahead of him.

looks like we are going to let Nketiah go out on loan.

Seems like Leeds Bristol and some foreign sides are at the front of the queue for him.

I think a loan to Leeds would be good for him, as he would get regular game time in a challenging league, and at the same time he would be playing for a big club that constantly deal with pressure.

Koscielney can ****ing do one. He's taken the piss big time over this. Shame really as he was a decent servant for us.

He's completely ruined his legacy with us over this debacle.

    Yes.
Arsenal stood by him through various injuries and what do we get in return - He downed tools, refused to go on tour, and went from imo admired professional to money grabbing ****.

We sold him for €5m. Good money for a injury prone turncoat **** with 1 year on his contract.

I would feel the same if a Spurs player did the same, I totally dislike players that go on strike to force through moves - it’s just ****ish

We've experienced players going on strike; Berbatov, Modric and Bale all did it. And yes, I know their transfers were in the 'olden days' before these moronic 'reveal vids' became all the rage, but this guy was your club captain, you stood by him through lengthy injuries and poor form, and this is how he chooses to announce himself as a Bordeaux player? It's like ****in Andy Dufresne taking off his prison shirt at the end of Shawshank.

I thought Levy played hardball with the players you named and sold for the highest price that was available, didn’t think they downed tools as such.

the reveal video by Koz is classless

All of them refused to train once they'd made their intentions to move clear. Berbatov and Modric kicked up more of a stink than Bale, although Jermain Defoe recently gave an interview in which he said that for basically the last few months of his Spurs career, Bale would just sit on the side watching training sessions and had an attitude of 'I can do what I want because I'm leaving anyway and too good to be dropped". I remember Modric was denied a move to Chelsea as we refused to repeat the Berba mistake by strengthening direct rivals, and consequently missed the first 2 games of the season too as he "wasn't in the right frame of mind to play". Cue violin. Happened to be he had a fantastic last season for Spurs, and ended up gaining from that as Real stepped in and blew Chelsea out of the equation the following summer.

I didn’t realise they acted like ****s, I remember the sales being protracted but put that down to Levy not being a pushover (compared to how we were acting in the transfer market at the time when we seemed to always sell our best player to whoever wanted them) and holding out for the price he wanted
