It was until his injury. Rumours are he could be out for as long as 3 months, hence our sudden panic to sign someone in that position.
My view was posted yesterday...its copied below with my fat fingered spelling mistakes so you can see it aint been edited .... My view is thst if we do not sign anyone else and do not lose anyone then its been an average window. If we lose Toby and or Eriksen and do not sign anyone else then we have gone backwards. If we get 2 of the 3 players we are targeting and sell those players I would say it has been a good window. If we get 2 of those players and keep Toby snd get Eriksen to sign a new deal it will have been a great window. But I can not judge until Thursdsy night. .... Not sure how that ties up with your post about what I think (especially the second paragraph). I have never had an issue with banter and have shown that but your frustration at a crap window don't mean it's ok to completely misrepresent my view mate.....it will just kill a debate which we all should be able to join in with. If this was the prem board it would have been fine cos there are no rules there but there are here which stops it being like most of those car crash thread Oh and btw... Am feeling a bit totes mowsh so....
Apparently AJ Tracey was at the Lane today to record a short video. Optimists: It's an unveil for NEW SIGNING II. Pessimists: It's to celebrate the fact that we can put 152 more seats in our stadium. Happy Medium: It's the 3rd kit announcement. Me: I hate grime so couldn't give a toss why he was there.
Musician AJ Tracey has this afternoon posted a video from inside the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium. The 25-year-old shared the footage on social media where he claimed ‘big things are going down’ before stating that he cannot say too much about it.
Surely either Foyth was going to be our RB but we already have KWP and Aurier to cover so we don't need another one, or Foyth was not going to be our RB so we don't need to change our plans. Either way if someone clearly better than Aurier or with more potential than KWP became available it would make sense to buy him. If we sign a non home grown right back then someone will have to go.
I think the question is.....does Levy want success at Spurs....or wants to visit the bank just to count the money?
Yep, that was clearly the thinking. All I’m saying is that when you think about the pros/cons/risk of those 3, I’m surprised that by default the club may not have had 1 or 2 names in mind, considering we’ve sold Walker and Trippier in recent years and Aurier has had his issues. It’s been a weaker area of the squad for sometime. I read a report that Sissoko may play there. Personally I think he’d be amazing. Especially when you consider he mopped up countless times for Trippier last season.
I think he's joking, as he brings up the ITK thing, but my first guess would be something to do with gigs at the stadium.
It will bring in extra cash and will have no impact on the playing surface so I don’t see a problem. It’s a better game than American rounders though.
Here's a quick summary of the lunatic fringe this summer "Give KWP a chance!" We sell Trippier, which increases KWP's chances of getting game time "FFS, buy a right back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Of course, as I brought up the right back situation, in the last 24 hours that's now mutated into... "FFS, buy a right back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Various outlets report we're interested in Elseid Hysaj "FFS, not THAT right back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I agree about Sissoko. I think we ought to consider playing 343 Lloris Alderweireld/Sanchez/Verthonghen Sissoko/Winks/Ndombele/Rose Son/Kane/Dele Back up Gazzaniga Foyth/Dier/Davies KWP/Skipp/Wanyama/Georghiu Lucas/Lamela/Eriksen Aurier, Nkoudou, Tanganga, Parrott in reserve. Ideally Sessegnon and Lo Celso instead of Wanyama and Georghiu. In any case we've got more cover for Foyth than any other player so it makes no sense to sign another RB.
Am I correct that Parrott would need to be named in the squad as a non home grown player for the CL as he hasn't been at the club for two years.
Technically he has: we signed him from Belvedere in the summer of 2017 ...so I'd best not mention that The Independent are reporting that Charlton are considering a loan for him
You mention Aurier as a reserve rather than back up. I can’t see him being happy about that, but the reality is that he could end up in that situation. Which would probably mean he’d want out. Which would leave us 1 natural RB, who doesn’t appear to have the full trust of the manager yet. I think we’re rolling the dice with this position to be honest. More so now that foyth is out with ligament damage.
Yes but that's only if we play with wing backs. While I would be happy with Sissoko as a wing back, I'm not so sure about him as a full back in a back four. But a new right back is definitely not a priority. Given we've got two specialists in Aurier and KWP, and that Sissoko. Dier and Alderweireld could fill in if necessary.
Three days of the transfer window to go and all we have done is weaken our squad, and rumours of one of our best players being sold to a rival, some might say that`s vintage Levy.
