Never seen anything like it today. The ball finding the gap or getting dropped, the umpires not giving clear decisions, Broad and Moeen bowling poorly.

Also... Somebody take the gloves from Bairstow and give them to Buttler for God sake

**** it based on today, I would start the next match:

    Sibley
    Burns
    Roy
    Root
    Bairstow
    Stokes
    Buttler (wk)
    Woakes
    Curran
    Leach
    Archer

Broad is ****ed. He's had his one innings per series splurge already, he's down on pace and his attitude in that second innings was appalling.

Ali needs a break, Rashid would get attacked, so Leach is literally the only option for Spin.

Denly is not at the right level, and Roy needs to come in at 3.

Bairstow is pissing me off with his ineptitude with the gloves. I have never seen a ball go through someone's legs as much since Tim Krul played for Newcastle.

If given a break means dropped then I agree for Ali.

Not watched much today but have been listening on the radio and Root should be dropped as Captain. Failing to attack the batsman and surrendering the initiative to Australia...again.

Root has done poorly, however, his bowlers have let him down massively. Anderson he can't do anything about, this was always going to be tough. It's been a really poor day from England.

Obviously you’re not watching too closely.

Smith and the Aussies have played well there’s no contesting that. But they have scored at over 4 an over for over a 100 overs and in Test Cricket that ain’t grinding. England have suffered with Anderson deciding to play before he had his iron lung removed but that doesn’t excuse the limp bowling performance in the second innings nor the lack of leadership from Rooooooooot.

Also England’s fielders have ended up just about all holding on to the boundary rope by the end of both innings. We haven’t since Smith settled in in the first innings attacked and crowded the Aussie batsmen.

I get that but austraila collapsed day 1 , so theyve really had to dig deep for 3 days to get in this position ... credit them. Credit englands batsman who will hold out tomorrow i think
