The first time Dai went to see the Swans he set off from Penclawdd at 6.30am as it was such a long walk. Fair play to him, he was quite an athlete in his youth and arrived at the North Bank by midday. The old man on the turnstile asked him why he was so early and Dai reeled off the details of his walk, including heading a couple of pints in the Black Boy in Dunvant. "That's impressive for a lad of your age" said the man on the turnstile "but be careful, the fans who arrive early normally suffer with premature Jack elation".
