It happens to the best of them - bad day at the office. It was a bit before my time but maybe you remember Charlie Hurley's debut? Hurley's Sunderland career had a disastrous start; a 7-0 rout by Blackpool, coupled with him scoring an own goal on his debut, which was quickly followed by a 6-0 defeat by Burnley.
Willis, Baldwin & Flanagan are all good enough for this league. The problem is that they are all are capable of making mistakes
Willis had a good first half and misplaced quite a few passes in the second but it was his first game for us, you can't be too critical.
Ross has NOT signed one decent player so Nigel clough in for me. I bet he would not have signed Mcgeady or Watmore either, i think he is trying to leave them out and play HIS players he signed, we have another Danny graham now as well, service has nowt to do with it you need to hassle and shove your way through a defence Defoe etc could do it.
This is the exact issue with SAFC fans. You get one opportunity to impress and that’s it. You fail then you’re ****. He’s had one game. He did ok but misplaced a few. Our fans can be dickheads and we have more than one in here
Bulls hit, Kirchoff and many more I could name. You're the dickhead mate, insulting people on here all the time.
I recall, from those long gone days of my youth, that we signed a young centre half who was said to be most promising. In those days we were used to 'the best' so expectations were high. His first game we lost 7-0. The second 6-0. (An improvement of sorts). It all turned out well in the end though. My point is that it's best not to judge players, (or indeed anyone), on first impressions.
