If the L1 Club outbidding us is Portsmouth for Marquis then I am not bothered, if we are being outbid by L1 Clubs for loans then that is a real worry.
Bowyer said clubs “keep coming over the top of us at the last minute” This means that Bowyer won’t end up with the players he wants, which in turn means having to sign desperadoes like Harriott.
He has no Championship experience and has played only 4 senior matches; All for Chelsea U23 in the Checkatrade Trophy against lower league teams. But he was on the bench (unused) when the senior Chelsea team beat Arsenal 4-1 in the Europa League Final last season. An unknown quantity in rough-tough grown up Championship football, but certainly a talented youngster.
There is a certain amount of creaming going on in some quarters. Gallagher might turn out to be our best signing so far this summer, but at the moment he is all potential, and no experience. That's 5 new players in now, and I don't think they have a Championship game played yet between them. (anyone please correct me if I'm mistaken).
A fair shout AHLL Though I was really referring to our five brand new faces (never played for us before) rather than the old faces re-signed.
You can’t beat the first day of a new football season. It’s like Xmas Eve, Xmas Day & getting rid of the wife day combined. Full English breakfast pending at Euston.
Nail on head. @Royston Vasey this is the reply I should have given you whilst you were getting all emotional with your pm to me earlier. When Bauer put the ball in the back of the net, I, along with 40k others knew we loved Charlton Athletic. Duchatelet soon wiped the euphoria and enthusiasm away. @lardiman please await my Newport Pagnell v Harpenden pictures
@baraettmattesvensson For someone with an “emotional detachment” to Charlton, you spend an awful lot of time each day on Charlton forums. #justsaying
