Good Morning. It's Friday 2nd August, and here are the Leeds Utd headlines Angus Kinnear - “There still may be some twists and turns before the window is over" Leeds Utd Managing Director Angus Kinnear was speaking yesterday evening at a Q and A event at Elland Road, and strongly hinted that there may be more transfer activity before next Thursdays deadline. Kinnear said: please log in to view this image Anderlecht in talks with Roofe According to the Daily Mail, Anderlecht are in talks with Kemar Roofe over a proposed 7m move to the Belgium giants. The 26 yo is out of contract in twelve months time, and yet to agree new terms. Under the guidance of Vincent Kompany, Anderlecht are much more of an attractive proposition than they were. It would also mean European football. How much of a priority is it to keep hold of Roofe? Bearing in mind Swansea forward Ollie McBurnie is about to be transferred for 20m, What is Roofe's true worth? please log in to view this image Frey back on the scene Swiss striker Michael Frey is back on Leeds radar. The physical centre forward is out of favour at Fenerbahçe. Since his move from FC Zurich twelve months ago, the former Swiss U21 International has netted 3 times in 14 appearances. A fee of around 2m is believed to be what the Turkish side would be wanting to recoup. please log in to view this image
When Roofe was on his game last season he was brilliant. Unfortunately the salary gulf between him and Bamford and injuries picked up appear to to have pissed him off and affected his performances. I'd like him to stay (7m is peanuts in these times). A fit and motivated Roofe is awesome, an injured or pissed-off Roofe is unfortunately of no use to us.
Morning all... If a twist and turn is a better striker in and Roofe out I’m fine with that, sadly I can’t see who’d sell someone better than Roofe just hours before the season kicks off? I certainly don’t believe Michael Frey is the answer, I think Stonkin has hit the nail on the head though, this season I fear we’re going to see both a pissed off and constantly injured Roofe
Roofe in the last year of his contract means £7m is decent money I'm afraid and to be fair he has been a bit injury prone. Bamford was out for ages but he had an ACL, Roofe was out twice and almost as long as Bamford. He can be a devastating player on his day but he fires blanks a lot. If he goes, good luck to him. The interesting striker story isnt Frey, who is hardly prolific, its the Italian Collidio from Inter Milan but seemingly we are battling Newcastle for him? Talk of Alan Hutton which I dont see All gone silent on Pearce to Barnsley too Why doe the English leagues have a different transfer window to anyone else? This means stuff is still happening up to the end of August and if we move players out we have no chance of replacing them. Crazy as the 8th August is only 6 days away to get any incomings over the line
where the fook you gonna get one of them the league starts today, you will get some unproven PL misfit on loan or a foreign makebeleive striker who wont cut it
Good morning everyone (two days to go) Unfortunately any injured or pissed off players (Roofe or not) are no use to us, as this is where a strong squad in depth is a must. Have we a strong squad to put in performances over fourty six matches ? this remains to be seen, have we learnt anything from last season? once again remains to be seen,i realy hope were not gonna fall short again when it comes to it. Plus side is, we do appear to have some great looking u23's waiting their chance, they might just be the answer, once again it's a wait & see situation, but Bielsa & Radz would have weighed all this up,so i am quietly confident for the season ahead (fingers crossed).
Wonder if Roofe was on the list... https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...DXDrqifPpKUuZAoi_ZFKzl3mYNjxsorcdNY-_QDgmLSdw

I really like Roofe and think he much better suited the system than Bamford last year but think there's always been a doubt from Leeds end as to whether he would step up if we were promoted so a reluctance to pay him top top wages on a long contract if we then have to unload and also think the system has changed this year. Also think there's no chance he's going unless a - it's Bielsa sanctioned and b - we have a Bielsa sanctioned replacement lined up
Good Morning to Matt and co from a dull Bardsey So Roofe is probably been sold for £7mand I agree with Matt Gayle is the man and Gibson for CB as for keeper anything but Darlow
From what i was told, Roofe was happy with the new contract offered weeks ago, the agent is the stumbling block, he thinks they could get more. The only scenario I'd accept Roofe going is the club have gone as far as they can, so £7m now or nothing next year, for a player who could be out for 6-8 games, obviously we'd have to have a replacement lined up though. If not that would be pure madness.
