perfect1.jpg Good Morning. It's Thursday 1st August, and here are the Leeds Utd headlines

Will Peacock Farrell sale unlock Radrizzani's cheque book?

Aston Villa's buying compulsion continued yesterday as they splashed out another 8m for Clarets shot stopper Tom Heaton. In turn, this allowed Burley to snap up Bailey Peacock Farrell for 3.5m bringing a total revenue of over 25m. Could this be the start of a very interesting final week of the transfer window?

Is Darlow on his way to ER?

Highly rated Toon keeper Karl Darlow continuous to be linked to a move to Elland Road, though realistically this will only happen if Savilla manage to persuade the former Real Madrid man to join them at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium. Do Leeds need another keeper? Casilla has looked solid in pre season and both Huffer and Miazek are improving rapidly.

Will the BPF money go towards the capture of Ryan Kent

Should the BPF money go toward the 10m Bielsa would need to purchase Ryan Kent? We know the 22yo is at the top of Bielsa's wish list!

    Do Leeds need another defender?

Perhaps the money will be spent on an experienced central defender as Jansson is yet to be replaced! Will Berardi be able to keep his cool? Is Cooper good enough to support Barardi? Are Struijk and Hosannah ready for first team action?

    Vukovic to ER?

According to TalkSport Leeds, Villa and Southampton are all thought to be keen on signing Croatian midfielder Josip Vukovic.
The 27-year-old, who plays for Maritimo is keen on a move to England. He is valued at 1.5m
Here are some of his highlights:-

    Morning all...

Unless Casilla is also on his way we don’t need another keeper, in an ideal world BPF would have been happy as number 2 and we’d have replaced Casilla. I don’t see the point in buying a new #2 and Casilla is too expensive to be on the bench.

A new Keeper is going to want assurances he is first choice, if he’s happy and used to be number two then we have Miazek.

I felt sure we’d get another new signing with so many U23s leaving, maybe it is all coffers in the bank for £10m rated Kent.

Any outfield signing we make who costs decent money is surely going to have more of an influence on season results than BPF?

Cheesh summed it up on another thread, it’s decent money for a bang average reserve keeper.

    Morning all <ok>

If Kiko goes to Seville Darlow will arrive but if Kiko stays we will see another young keeper arrive to replace BPF as either understudy to Miazek/Huffer for the U23s or understudy to Kiko. Still not clear where the hell Huffer is as nobody has seen him and not on the injury list, so have we sold him as well?

The £24.7m brought in so far what is it being used for? a) Cover the £14m loss for last season and the projected £10m loss for this season. b) A top class purchase this next few days. c) or a war chest for January if required? Not forgetting that there is also a benefit of between £4.5m and £6.5m in wage reduction due to 26 players minimum off the books. The wage reduction is immediate whereas the transfer fees gained will be spread over 3 years in some cases.

Still looking at fringe players leaving and there are still half dozen?

Morning all. Why has Josh Rae featured so much in preseason instead of the other two U23 keepers? More injuries? I’ve been disappointed with the window so far and will be even more disappointed if we don’t use some of the money on a quality signing, a CB for me. God help us, some are already talking about the January transfer window and a ball hasn’t even been kicked yet. It’s always the ‘next’ bloody window.

2 players I was surprised we let go was Hugo Diaz the U23 skipper and CB, and Sam Dalby who we fought to get. Obviously not knowing the reasons but Diaz walks straight into a top La Liga club and Dalby walks into Watford. Watford are raving about Dalby who has now scored 4 goals in 2 games and it seems the Watford manager has taken note of the 19yo and thinking about first team squad?

Josh Rae was released in May

He was on the bench against Taddy when had a trialist between the sticks

Miazek was understudy to Kiko in Oz

Miazek played against Girona whilst Kiko was in Italy and Rae was understudy in Italy.

    Where is Huffer?

Well said. I would like to see a goal scorer come in if we only had one shot left.

Orta said you were 90% done in transfers and a couple have left since so read what you can into that,
Doc makes a very good point,
Rads is a business man if he lost 14m last year he is not going to repeat that again this year,, so looks to me like he has his 14m back and with all the cut backs has guaranteed it does not happen again this year <ok>
Maybe if things pan out well you may get someone in in Jan, or sooner if not too expensive,

Taken in £25 million and potentially spent £25 million, no magic millions.

We've agreed to buy Costa for £15 million at the end of this season and another £10 on Harrison if we go up.

In that case they are not in this seasons budget. Also the commitment to purchase if we go up should show money due in through promotion don't you think.

Harrison £13m and Costa £12m that is our outlay at the end of the season if we wish to keep them

Edit** Was typing this and missed LCW reply my figures might be wrong but still equals £25m

If you take into account Clarke and look at it in a positive way, £25m worth of talent has exited ER

£35m of talent plus whatever White is valued at has entered ER

I agree we haven’t had to outlay what has come in but the book value of the starting 11 has increased
