You mean like bringing the ball forward, keeping possession, dribbling and forward passing?

He is a good defender too though <ok>

I think he's very average. Better than what you have, but that's not hard.

It's the bar you're setting for average players though if you pay 70-90mil. He's a 40mil defender at best. I don't care as it's not my money but it's just a shocker of a decision if it happens.

He has improved us. All the stats back that up. And in his first season.

Like I said, I think you badly underestimate Emery.

I don't know exactly but Diego said you're 1 point worse off?

The football you play certainly hasn't improved imo. I didn't watch a single Arsenal game last season and think you were better than a late Wenger team

Edit: I see you got 70 points. A 7 point improvement I think <ok>

Yet you think VvD was some kind of bargain?
Watch the man without the goggles, he is the same as Can, a great New York cop with his arm waving and blaming.
When you were under pressure Can used to guard the centre spot and make sure no opposition set foot on it.
VvD guards the penalty spot in the same way, both waved their arms at team mates and blame them when someone gets a shot in or runs off them (why do you think Klopp bollock VvD after the second goal the other night).
I will admit that VvD is the best defender in the PL when teams break on you (which is usually the only threat you face), his positional sense, aerial ability and speed make him very hard to pass but when a team is pressing you he is very average.

No he said that we were 1 point off 4th, not one point worse off. We finished with 7 more points and one position higher than Wenger's last season.

The end of the season was really disappointing for us, but as I said, there was enough in the season to show me that Emery has begun to improve us. But for that collapse at the end we could have got top 4 and won a european pot, but we didn't.

Didn't see Pep tearing up trees during his first season at City either, but this season expectations are much higher on Emery, So we'll see what he can do .

Than 4th (the amazing spuds) <doh>

This is what I mean, for all the crowing over how amazing Poch supposedly is. We finished 1 point behind them in Emery's first season, with huge change right through the club (we should have finished above them really, but for a missed pen in the last min at wembley)

Poch has had 6 years at the Spuds, and won nothing. He was almost overtaken by Emery in his first season at the Emirates, with a team he inherited from Wenger.

Pretty much what I said/implied. Poch has had six years and nothing has changed apart from the stadium (which is down to Levy I am lead to believe).

^^^^^^ Still rattled.

So we’re signing young Kean from Juve, never seen the lad play, but he’s obviously now Wuuurrrrllld class.

Sorry lads, I’ve got a bad dose of the kopititis

He's a talent from the snippets I've seen ... admittedly not much and mainly from a game that was more significant for the racial abuse he got ...

Poch not happy...

Mauricio Pochettino says he is "not in charge" of transfers at Tottenham and believes his job title should be changed from manager to coach.

The Argentine made the comments after Spurs' 1-0 Audi Cup win over Real Madrid in Munich on Tuesday.

Earlier this month, Spurs broke their transfer record to sign Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele - the club's second signing since January 2018.

"I know nothing about the situation of my players," said Pochettino.

"The club needs to change my title and description. Of course I am the boss deciding the strategic play, but in another area I don't know. Today, I feel like I am the coach."

Have you seen Maguires stats for last season?
He was marginally beaten overall (but came out on top in many attributes) by one player, that player was playing in a much better team at the time.

Don't rule out the "who he plays for now" factor <laugh> in some of the criticism ...

Fact is VVD hadn't even shown that he was as good as Maguire has now whilst at Saints ... a similar sized club to Leicester ... but Liverpool put up what was then 'ridiculous money' for a defender and all of a sudden the koppites were creaming their shell suits that they had signed the wuuurrrrlds best defender ... he was playing in a Dutch defence that was complete ****e and had been beaten by just about everyone bar Neverland ... now it has turned out very well for them ... but some of the comments now about Maguire are just hypocritical dwarf droppings ...

The fee (value placed on him) doesn't reflect just his ability... it is what a four year remaining contract for a top class, proven, International defender is worth to a club that has no reason to (and does not need to) sell.

The lad has not thrown a sulky fit like VVD to force a move and fair play to him for that, it's commendable in the modern game.

He will leave at some time for sure ... but the power shift in football (or at least the PL) is changing ... we are now one of a number of non big 6 clubs that can tell the big boys to put up or swivel ... a growing trend that is refreshing to fans outside the 'entitled' brigade and their heavily plastic fan bases...<cheers>

... should be enough in that to keep the usual suspects spinning for most of the day ... :emoticon-0136-giggl

Wow ... lot of angst in that ... he is not a happy boy
