Food in HoS took a bit a dip I thought after Kerb Edge left, not sure what it’s like now? (only drink in there now)
Beer is great in Atom, although pricey, and the food is good too.
Difficult to avoid Lion and Key & Black Boy too if you’re in old town (well I find it difficult anyway <cheers>)

Black Boy whenever mentioned always reminds me of Double Diamond on draft. There weren't many places served it on draft, but in my youth, BB was one of them.

The food in lion and key is top notch. I had a great curry a couple of weeks ago. Spoils for choice if you like real ales.

Never been to a Wetherspoons that didn't remind me of eating and drinking in a 1960's works canteen.

Hard to judge on one visit but here goes, it's a **** hole. I had ****s asking if I was going to leave anything whilst eating a meal in there, the beer was poor so I donated what was left after I had drunk as much as I could to some poor desperate sole.

Having said that the other wethers at the bottom of whitefrigate is ok.

Agree about the food, but I only go in for the drinks. They still have frickles though (battered pickles) which soak up the beer nicely and the burgers look nice, if a little pricey.

Also worth mentioning the White Hart (not Ye Olde) which now serves decent beer and decent food.

Green Bricks last Sunday. Queuing inside the pub. (Sea Shanty Festival on outside)
Ordered the beer shown on the label on the pump ( that new locally brewed craft stuff) and out of the pump came some ****ty cheap lager, not the stuff shown on the pump. Staff said I was wrong. £4.45 a pint as well. Once bitten.....

That winds me up in a busy pub. Very occasionally you do see and admire an artist at work behind a busy bar who knows exactly who is next and actually prompts them for their order. Dieing breed though.

People not knowing or understanding pub etiquette really pisses me off. They all know how it works at the barbers, same principle at the bar.
