Good Morning. It's Monday 29th July, and here are the Leeds Utd headlines

    Leeds held in Sardinia
Leeds capped off their pre-season preparation with a 1-1 draw in Sardinia.
The White opted to go for a 3-3-1-3 formation against Cagliari with Whites partnering Cooper and Berardi in defence. Bielsa's men started slowly and went behind after a quarter of an hour when Pavoletti slotted past a helpless Casilla. As the game progressed, Leeds started to find their form, but were unable to find an end product. Leeds pressure was rewarded early in the second half when Klich was bundled down in the area and Hernandez levelled from 12 yards. The Whites had more than enough chances to win the game but an end product was always missing. Kalvin Phillips earned himself a straight red card for a reckless challenge towards the end of the game.

    Youngsters battle to victory
Whilst the first XI were in Sardinia, a second team managed by Leeds coach Pablo Quirogo travelled down the M62 to Lancashire to play against recently relegated Girona. Hosannah who normally occupies right back was switched to centre back to partner Struijk. McCalmont, Gotts played well together in midfield. Alioski played down the right, allowing Douglas to occupy his more familiar role. Oduor, wearing 11, played as wide on the left.

It was an open game where Leeds often found themselves defending, but battled to victory courtesy of goals from Oduor, Harrison and Alioski. Not even Saiz who came on as a second half substitute could save the Italians. Final score Leeds 3 Girona 2.

Bamford draws a blank in pre season
With the start of the season less than a week away, should Bielsa be concerned that Bamford has drawn a blank in pre season? The 25yo has not scored since the end of April against Villa. Would you play him on Sunday? With Roofe missing with injury, who would you play up front?

    Morning all

I try not to read too much into preseason but it’s not been the best, I don’t believe the best 11 have actually played together yet in their best positions.

I don’t see we have any choice but to play Bamford, both he and Roofe are too injury prone so I hope Bielsa has a plan for when they’re both injured.

Morning all. I wonder how long it will be before we see Bogusz leading the attack?

    Morning all,

Of course Bamford must play. Good chance to establish himself with Roofe out. Gets him an early start to hit the 'totally realistic' 400 goals target some of our social media 'fans' seem to be setting him.

Btw Ell, whoever you pinched the match report from probably needs to be avoided in future. For a start, he didn't seem to know that we were playing Girona! :D

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

I imagine we will be playing a lot of games this week between the first 11 and the 2nd 11 which will include a lot of kids. I hope we are fit enough and have coached a plan into every player. Can't say I'm happy about pre season but at least a lot more players than normal have had game time. Too many flights, passport control and departure lounges for my liking.

White and Harrison should start as Harrison looks a different player so far and Bielsa seems to have found the ball carrying CB he was after. Bogusz is deffo going to get plenty of game time and I still need to see Costa in full cry and getting an understanding with whoever will be a regular link play partner for him. I'm sure Bamford will be fine???

Main talking points today are Kiko being offered £2m per year to go back to Spain, and jungle drums are confident that he'll go but I'm not too sure. I think much depends on his family and have they settled in Leeds or are they still in Spain. I know Pablo's wife is in regular contact with Kiko's wife but are they here? Keeper situation seems to get greyer every day as Josh Rae posts stuff on social media but wont reply to questions about him being a Leeds player again? No BPF and No Huffer. Season starts next weekend and we know if we have anyone other than Miazek? Suppose the presser on Friday will be fun

Seems that Sarkic has or is being released as he played for Burton Albion at the weekend and Nigel Clough wants to sign him but knows there are 3 other clubs on the continent chasing him. Pearce is another who has been told to find a club so may end up out on loan but obvious he isnt part of Leeds plans and that goes for Nessy too.

That's a very good question. A natural #10. Makes you wonder if Bielsa will persist with developing Roberts there (when recovered), or use him as a striker again. Looks like a nice problem to have. The first time I watched Bogusz play, I couldn't believe he was only 17. He isn't built like a kid, and he most certainly plays like he's been a pro for years. Whoever scouted this lad should get a medal.

Gaby Ruiz was employed by Orta and is responsible for Eastern Europe. So far he has found us Miazek. Klich, Bogusz, Alioski and Sunjik who went to Birmingham for £6m last week. We made contact and offered his club £2.5m as an opening gambit but obviously Pep Clotet is stalking us and nipped in with a bigger offer.

    Morning Everyone

Was I the only one impressed by Casiila? Though he made some good saves, distribution was good and he looked in control

Jurgen Klopp is ready to send Ryan Kent to Rangers, but only if they buy him permanently.
The Liverpool manager has ruled out the possibility of another season out on loan for the winger.
Kent spent last season at Ibrox under the watchful eye of Steven Gerrard and the Kop legend is keen to have the 22-year-old back in Glasgow.

Bielsa really wanted this lad. I wonder if there's a second choice?
Bit strange really, as Leeds have Harrison, Costa, Alioski and Clarke who are all wingers.
Liverpool are seeking around £10m for the winger which may rule Rangers out anyway.

If 23 players are no longer on the books wonder how much we save on wages. Yes some were kids but I would bet even players in the 23s are on £50kpa. Players like Pearce Wilks, Coyle, Denton etc would be on £100kpa then you get players like Sacko, Ekuban, Anita, Saiz on £700kpa I'm betting we have saved a huge amount

Still have another 10 players to offload and probably most will be gone by the end of August as window open on the continent later. Cibicki, Ideguchi, LDB, Anita all still to confirm their moves
