Blimey... That was eventful. What an absolute mare for Mercedes. Fair punishment for the silly outfits though. They were never going to go unpunished.

Was that a nice little dig back at Alonso for his GP2 engine quotes? :)

    <laugh> Fabulous stuff.

They deserve it because it’s been a long, long journey since Melbourne 2015 when it became clear it would be years until they got competitive.

    Awesome job.

Something about engineers giving drivers clutch settings on grid, I assume after the first start following safety car so they had settings for race start. Plus torque demand is supposed to follow drivers actions but there was a 0.2 to 0.3 sec delay in torque, so effectively it was a sort of traction control l!!!

Dodgy engine mapping, which is odd as I'd have thought it's a Ferrari PU thing not just Alfa.

    "
The drivers were penalised for an offence related to the way the clutch of the cars operated during the wet standing start, which was deemed to have potentially mimicked traction control in the tricky conditions.

The penalty - equivalent to an in-race stop-and-go - was the same as that which which be given for a false start"

    WILLIAMS IN THE POINTS.

    I repeat

    WILLIAMS IN THE POINTS.

Fabulous stuff for Kubica- what an absolutely torrid year it’s been when we should have been talking about his incredible story and journey back here.

PS does scoring a point essentially pay your airfare as a team for the next season? (I’m sure I remember Bernie had some rule about it)

Why is there a 200th race curse in F1?

Could be worse, Schumacher had already secured one of his titles by mid July. At least "technically" Hams a while off yet.

Plus we've had a few awesome races of late. F1 is fine and dandy (for now)

So much rubbish being talked about today's race. It was thoroughly entertaining with a well deserved win by Max and a great comeback by Seb, but also a bit of a lottery. Lewis having an off day and Bottas looking poor again. But nothing should be read into it. Normal servìce will probably be resumed in Hungary.

It's incredible how things can turn around. After France, I would have called this the worst season I've ever watched.

But now, Austria, Silverstone and Germany all producing amazing races back to back. It's probably the best three-race stint the sport has had in decades.
