Still want to see the team be on the same page with Costa. Still see some great patterns but seem to over play it like Wenders Arse were doing, we need final ball and Bamford confident.

Bogusz excellent again, Pablo, White did well again up against a Seria A attack, Klich excellent, Phillips was Phillips and Kiko dod well too. Clarke shone when he came on for 10 minutes too

Douglas, Alioski, Harrison and Co to mix in with this lot

Not sure I agree with you about Clarke. I want to, but just didn't see it myself.

Just made some comments on one of the clickbait jobs. They scored Davis a 5, "even though Bielsa shouted 'very good' every 2 minutes". I maintain that Davis had a brilliant game, and the congratulations were genuine, but also a hooded criticism of those not following the game plan. And by that I mean Costa in particular. I don't think it's a coincidence he got hooked after an hour or so. Not convinced it was planned. I'm now beginning to worry about him & my concern is that like Douglas, he shone doing a particular job with Wolves. I'm not convinced that either is versatile enough to shine in our team in the same way, with a whole different way of playing expected of them.

Possibly overthinking it WJ, I felt Bielsa was just encouraging a lad who could easily have felt out of his depth/overwhelmed in the exalted company, having been called in to do a job. He seemed to be shouting after Davis lost possession or wasn't on the same wavelength as Costa.

I just thought he wasn't shouting at Costa as he expected him to thrive in the surroundings.

    Just my take. <cheers>

I think you're actually on my wavelength.

I agree that the encouragement was over-frequent, and fairly under-deserved.

Also agree with you about Davis not being on the same wavelength as Costa. And that's my whole point! I think Bielsa was pointedly drawing everyone's attention to the fact that Davis was in fact in the right place at the right time, as per plan - but the experienced guys (especially Costa, imo), weren't playing their part.

Put another way - Davis was doing exactly what he was supposed to be doing, but was being made to look stupid & naive by players that were failing.

Controversial, eh? 30 bob kid makes £15m star look like an arsehole by doing his job properly. :D

Hopefully this week we see for the first time how this group train together properly. Never seen a pre season when we haven't seen the 11 we will be putting out for the opening match. I didnt see the match against Saiz but they must have played well to beat them from the first minute to the last. But thought we played some good stuff in Sardinia and that means the team playing in Bristol will be interesting to see.

WJ is probably close as Costa has hardly had the time with Bielsa because of this pre season programme and Bielsa must be fuming.

Still worried at CB but White is better than Pontus on the ball and positionally. But any team bombarding us with high balls from set pieces will have an advantage

We need Bamford to score because the lad is getting desperate. He maybe should have taken the penalty as its a freindly. His head seemed to drop late on
