I thought he was one of our stand out players last season despite being played out of position. There's probably a limit how far he can go but so far so good as far as I'm concerned.

Thought he did good like you say playing out of position but people calling for him to play in the number 10 role etc are just madness imo, I do think he will be an assist in the middle because of his engine and he’s not a bad player at all.

I’m actually quite confident we’ll win the league this year tbf.

Wondering if this lad is another "Maguire" type in that his previous club's fans seem to detest him! We got so many "he's ****e" tweets from Bury fans and "Good riddance to bad rubbish" and he has been quality for us.

    Hoping McNulty is the same

I don't know that much about McNulty but based on the clips I've seen it looks like we've now got three centre forwards of three different types. That should at least mean that we can be tactically flexible.

    Yep
Big and slow, Small and slow, Average size and slow?

I've seen nothing of McNulty (and there is a large chunk of sarcasm in my comment above!!)

I know I am optimistic about the season and looking foward to it - although, that said, I've just found out the wife has arranged a ****ing 3 day break which doesn't get back until 3pm next Saturday! But it is her birthday so I'll let her off!!

I see him as the player Rodwell would have been if he'd been born with a pair of testicles, box to box CM. He could probably do a job further forward if absolutely necessary but nah it wouldn't be the best use of what he's got, far from it.

I'm going to pussy out for now and sit on the fence but we did well last season for a club being overhauled from top to bottom and we'll be starting this one with a better, fitter and more gelled group of players so it looks good.

I thought McNulty had quite a decent scoring record. Fairly shrewd loan signing I reckon.

Absolutely agree with this - I think the biggest issue was how well we did early in the season. It was always going to be a struggle at some point especially with the cup run as well (that said, I'd love us to win it this season!). Number of games in this league makes it unforgiving. But I'm definitely looking forward to the new season

Those new brooms are still sweeping, and this has been a very very good window. Issues addressed across the board and some of our younger players ready to make their mark, Hume, Robson, and Embleton in particular should inject a level of skill, energy and pace to the team, and with the better players from last season still here, I too am looking forward to a very good season ahead, got the feeling that we wont fail at the last hurdle this time. Been rubbish man. Look at Twitter. People haven’t heard of our signing so they can’t be any good!!!

Has been very good. As you say, issues addressed and quality added where needed! Looking forward to the new season although I’ll miss Catts!!

Wyke and Grigg are very frustrating to watch. Wyke puts himself about, and earns about 2 quality chances per start, but he misses them both. And when this happens, I fully believe that Grigg would have taken those chances, but Grigg never seems to get any quality chances. Even when Grigg gets a shot on goal, the goalie always seems to have the angle or the post covered.

O9 is easy to watch. He wins something like 6 aerial duels per match, manages to be a part of 2 or more promising attacks per match, and generally comes through when we really need him to.
