I hadn't read that bit, but will take his word. A **** idea, probably dreamed up by the lovable American shyster.
I am sorry but I find this utterly appalling. I do not want my personal details provided to any finance house or card (albeit debit / white card) provider. I didn’t read the terms when I renewed my season ticket (who does?) but would have baulked had it been drawn to my attention that I was allowing my personal info being handed over to any financial organisation. I do not need any new credit or banking facilities and my chosen football team have no right to assume I want such. Having whined about all that. One thing does spring to mind. If I had paid by credit for last years’ season ticket, there seems to me a reasonable argument for a refund from the finance provider. This would be claimed on the grounds that I paid to watch football and very frequently, to my mind, last season, I didn’t receive what I’d paid for.
This is #1 on the long list of small print 'conditions' listed on the letter to which the season ticket/debit card is attached. You pay these charges up front if you are dumb enough to make a purchase using the card and can then claim it back as QPR Cash that can only be spent in the club shop. Basically you are paying to have a 2nd unnecessary card in the payment chain when making a debit card transaction. As I said before, this is sharp practice at best. I wait to see the TV ads for QPR Cash payday loans...
