https://the72.co.uk/139873/swansea-city-set-sights-on-watford-centre-back/ I just don't get loans in like this, This is a 19 year old with no experience, we have plenty of those already at our club, so why would we bring an untested one in and give another clubs player experience when we could do it with our own 19 year olds. If this boy had played a season already at our level I get it, I just don't get this. to take him we might as well as persevere with Kian Harris or Brandon cooper. Is this really the best we can do.
We’ve certainly bolstered our defence with two signings. Let’s hope these don’t lead to the sales of Roberts and van der Horn.
I don't get why we are spending millions on our academy if we have to go to another smallish clubs academy and loan players. it makes no sense. we have defenders in our academy with more first team experience than the kid we have borrowed from Watford and lest be honest we haven't been super successful with our loan signings. Maybe I am totally wrong here and this kid is a player.
https://www.swanseacity.com/news/andy-scott-hopes-further-swansea-city-additions Seems we are on the look out for some new players. but are in that much **** that we can only do unattached or loan. I jnew we had to cut back but I am staggered how far we have fallen in the transfer market. Watched Garden Village play Briton Ferry in an entertaining 2-2 draw, watching was Adam Mathews who stated he was signing for a club today. I wonder.
Mathews has been unlucky a few injuries dropped then as first choice at Celtic then bouncing around between Clubs , a decent footballer who really hasn't kicked on , perhaps as he's free we could be interested but he's now 27 ish a little old for Potter maybe
Here's Wilmots stats and info from last year. One worry is only 40% of aerial battles one, which of course is already one of our major weaknesses. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/8...a-city-seal-capture-of-premier-league-talent/
Sheffield United to offer £18m for Oli ..... I suspect they’ll take that https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/9594650/oliver-mcburnie-sheffield-united-swansea-city-18m/
100% I don’t expect to see him start the season. That’s probably why we’re in no rush to get rid of Baston with the eventual sale of Oli.
I would prefer an experience player than a player who has no experience but the experience player will be looking at who will pay more than what we will pay but that is not to say the youngster won't be a Gem....My guess how the season will pan out ..... TOP HALF 6 in no particular order. Leeds Cardiff Fulham WBA Derby Bristol city. BOTTOM HALF in no particular order. Brum Swans Hull Barnsley Luton
Oh oh ..... please log in to view this image Swansea City are mulling over an improved bid from Sheffield United for Scottish striker Oli McBurnie.
We all know what's gonna happen anyway - hence Baston still being here. He might come good hopefully - a goal against Bristol Rovers and an assist against Atalanta in his 2 appearances from the bench in pre-season.
Can't blame oli if he wants to go for a better deal and premiership football really. The club is not an attractive proposition like it was before Jenkins and Pearlman ruined it. Sad but that is what it is now and it will take a very long time before The club becomes a place that good players will want to come too.
